I’m very disappointed with the overall customer service at the MAC store inside Westfield Culver City. I only choose this location because it’s the closest to my home, but every experience here leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
I’ve tried booking online, and if there’s no availability, I’ll call the store to check. I understand something happening once, twice, three, or maybe even 4 times but literally every single time I call, I’m told they’re too busy, they don’t take walk-ins, or there’s no availability. At this point, it clearly means something is up.
One of the biggest issues is the appointment policy. The manager, Jackie, stated they no longer take makeup appointments after 4 PM, even though she also confirmed the store does not close until 9 PM. That means for five full hours, customers are being told they cannot book services. I asked if no one was in the store and a customer walked in, could the employee there start the makeup service while still helping others. I was told no, that it’s against MAC policy, which makes absolutely no sense and is a lie.
The staff and management all seem to be on one accord when it comes to being mean, snappy, and rude to customers. The store honestly acts like they do not want to work. Literally all the girls in there are rude, and even when you do get service, it feels rushed like they’re trying to hurry you out.
The one time my daughter did get her makeup done here, she actually loved the final look from one of the girls. However, I still ended up having an issue because the service was being rushed. My thing is, it is not a free service. We still have to purchase a certain amount of products, so why are customers being rushed. I booked for a
Certain look that takes a certain amount of time so why are they trying to cut to shorter? And why is business being turned away? It makes no sense.
They truly act as if it's a free service and they are doing you some sort of favor.
To compare, I called the MAC location in the Manhattan Beach area near The Point. They were completely booked for the day, but they still told me I could come as a walk-in before the store closed at 7 PM and someone would be able to service me. I walked into the store with my daughter at 6 PM, and they were able to complete a 45-minute glam on her before closing. They also had customers in the store, and only one person was working. Again, it’s about going above and beyond for the customer. Fox Hills, on the other hand, always feels like they want to turn you away, and it’s weird.
We know what the experience is supposed to be like because we’ve had no issues at other MAC locations. This is the only location that consistently gives us a hard time—literally every single time.
The entire staff including management seriously needs to have someone above them or from corporate address the professionalism and customer service at this store. Customers are coming in ready to spend money and should be treated with respect, not attitude.
0/10, would NEVER recommend this Fox Hills location.

I had such an amazing experience with Jackie! I was originally booked for a makeup appointment at Sephora, but they emailed me just an hour before to cancel with no backup artist. I was told to try other Sephoras or even MAC across the store, and I was honestly so stressed since my event was only 4 hours away.
Jackie, the assistant store manager, completely saved the day. She was so kind, calm, and welcoming, and she was able to take both my mom and I last minute. Not only did she fit us in, but she absolutely nailed our makeup—we both loved how we looked!
Her professionalism, talent, and genuine kindness made such a difference during a stressful moment. I’m so grateful for her and truly hope she’s doing amazing in her journey with MAC. Highly recommend Jackie to anyone looking for a great makeup artist!
