    I enjoyed coming to Sephora, almost all employees are friendly and attentive. I request for help with a makeup or fragrance product and I am helped right away. Proud to be a VIB member soon to be Rouge!!! Sephora in South Coast Plaza 5 stars!

    The lady who was checking me out was very brusque and disrespectful to me about using MY rewards that I’ve earned through shopping at Sephora. She told me point blank that I was not allowed to combine my points cash with my credit card rewards, and when I questioned her about it, she just rudely asked if I “had a barcode”. I worked for Sephora for years, she can go in the system and look for the reward herself, but I obliged her and showed her the code for my credit card reward, which she reluctantly scanned, and then commented “oh, well I guess you can use both.” It was never a question to me, because I used to work there and I know how the system works!! This store needs to retrain their staff on customer service and POS policies. Embarrassing for one of the top performing Sephora doors in the country 🙄🥴

    I want to preface this by saying this is my go-to Sephora and I love this location, however today I had a very rude encounter with one of their workers. I visited the store around 2:55pm today looking for a specific shade of the EADEM lippies for a graduation present I was making. I went to the section and I couldn’t find the specific shade I needed (Bissap Glaze). I approached a group of 3 workers within the skincare area. One of them had blue hair & she had asked me if i needed help prior so I decided to go back to her to see if they had the shade in stock. I had my phone out to show her the shade and before she could respond one of the other workers beside her cut in and blatantly said no. I was so confused because she didn’t even know which shade I was showing the other girl on my phone. After an awkward pause, she clarified that whatever was out on the shelf is the only shades available and there were none in the drawer & she would know because she stocked the shelf herself. At first I was just shocked by how blunt she was & her lack of effort to assist. I decided to take the loss and grab a different shade but was still confused because it says that the shade was in-stock online & is available for store pickup. I know that sometimes inventory isn’t always accurate. After lining up to check out, I saw that the woman who told me no had left the area. I decided to try my luck and ask another worker who was also there in that original group I approached. I kindly asked her if she could double check if they had the shade because it was in-stock online. She was kind enough to check the drawers and then decided to go check the back. After a few minutes, she comes out with a whole bin of the shade I was looking for! She was so amazing & I highly appreciated the effort she made to actually look and check for the product. I understand that the initial woman was right that they did not have the shade in the drawers but she was just insanely rude and insistent that the shade I was looking for was out when it wasn’t. I wish I could’ve gotten her name, but she had medium brown hair & was wearing a long black sleeve with brown buttons on the side of her arms. The rest of the staff were friendly & very helpful though!

    this store is so busy at times that it’s impossible to get through the line within an hour. i tried to come in on two separate occasions to make a return, and waited for 30 minutes, just to not even get close to the front of the line. i tried to make an exchange for final sale or store credit since i was 12 days after, and i thought maybe they could make an exception, considering i tried twice within the window, was trying to exchange for different products, and the products were unused. the manager was honestly pretty rude and cold about it, which was so upsetting. i was really kind and hoped for a little bit of understanding considering the understaffed store made it impossible for me to reasonably complete this on two other trips. i got some help from MUA jonathan when i was picking out some shades, and he was so helpful. it made me so sad to put these products back. i will not be purchasing from sephora again. i would rather buy from nordstrom, ulta, or the brands directly. i will be back to collect my annual birthday gifts and run up their samples
