  I've been coming here about 3 years. My hair has thrived under the care of Tenena. I'm very happy to refer her. You'll need to keep her conscious of your time, though. She enjoys her customers and we could get delayed. I wore natural hair for many years and decided a relaxer would help me with my hair growth goals. And it has. I wasn't able to attach photos to this review. I have attached separately.

  As a Customer, I am never required to listen to an employee`s religion or culture beliefs. Employees are generally prohibited by their employers from discussing, preaching, or imposing their personal, cultural, or religious beliefs on customers while on the clock. Customers-and even co-workers-have the right to decline religious discussions. Because workers are required to remain polite and professional, proselytizing puts customers in an uncomfortable situation and crosses the line into unprofessional behavior. We chose JCPenney solely for a haircut and coloring, but we felt the employee made an unnecessary fuss about the situation; you really ought to point out that people are sensitive about this matter. Please keep in mind that where you come from and how you practice your religion are personal matters that concern only you. I do not want to name names or file a formal complaint; I was simply bothered by the situation. I am not directing this at the entire staff, but if you pass this note along, that specific person will certainly understand.

  I was recommended to see Lyla by a friend who has been seeing her for many years. When I first got in her chair she was very polite and friendly right away. She gave me a consultation about by thick and curly hair that is hard for me to style. I actually went in to get a haircut and some help with my styling or should I say ways to style my hair because I was tired of putting it up in a bun all the time. Lyla was very helpful and showed me ways to style my hair and she taught me ways to clip my hair back with some cute pieces to frame my face. I was very comfortable talking to her and opening up about my hair that I asked if she had time to do a color as well, ? She told me even though she was busy she could fine the time to plan in my color. I was so excited and ready for a change. She showed me the color and recommended a few colors that would suit by face and cover my greys. When all said and done I was very pleased and would scheduled my next appointment to she her again. Love my hair!

  Great experience! This was my first time going to Lyla was very nice. Lyla was amazing from start to finish in consulting my preferences and ensuring she knew exactly what I wanted! She took her time with cutting my hair and did an amazing job.
