Price is so much higher than what it used to be but nothing we can do about it. Service is great. The spa is great. Food was good too. I come here usually twice a year with these prices. But if I could, I'd come here every month
Had a relaxing day at Spa Hyu. I’ve been to most of the Korean spas in Koreatown before COVID, and I’ve been looking forward to trying one in the SGV area.
Spa Hyu works pretty similarly to other Korean spas. The entrance fee is $40, and you leave your belongings in the locker provided. You’ll need to shower before entering the women-only area, which has saunas, steam rooms, and hot and cold jacuzzis. In that area, you’re nude and can only carry the towels provided.
Once you’re done, you can change into the outfit they provide and head to the common area, where you’ll find the clay and salt rooms, dining area, and lounge spaces.
The food in the dining area is not bad. After spending time in the salt and clay rooms, I got really tired and ended up falling asleep in the lounge.
There are also services (by appointment) that can waive the entrance fee, though I haven’t tried any of them yet. Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with the service and cleanliness of the spa
I attended this place with my mom for a spa day, she got the head massage and I got the body scrub + massage package. It was our first time in this spa and my mom was just wowed by the entire place. I was delighted that I could treat my mom and see her so happy.
Per my mom, the head massage was wonderful and so relaxing that she nearly fell asleep. She loved the main room - the aesthetics were beautiful.
My body scrub and massage was equally wonderful. It was my first time doing a body scrub so I was a bit unfamiliar with everything (required full nudity, pre-soak in warm bath, and the whole body scrub process). But I had booked an appointment with Lisa who was very polite, helped me through everything, and treated me well. I felt safe and comfortable, which was my main concern. 10/10 would do it again!
What a delight this place was. Spacious and clean, great food at the restaurant, perfect place to relax for a few hours. I got a very nice head massage from Lisa and spent the rest of my time relaxing in the common area with a book or in the hot tub. The tteokbokki at the restaurant was excellent—a bit pricey but the portion size was so big I was able to take half of it home.
This was only my second time at a Korean spa and the previous one I tried had such a bare bones common area that the one at Spa Hyu really surprised me, in the best way! It’s huge and the tile floor is heated and there are so many comfy chairs and couches to sit in. Really an upgrade from the last place I tried. I am very excited to go back to spa hyu sometime soon!
While the attendants in the spa area were polite in upholding the spa etiquette, i could hear the front desk staff gossiping about the personal appearance of the guests. It was a little awkward, but besides that there are plenty of sauna/relaxation rooms and mats to relax on. I would recommend going to spa hyu during the weekdays as it gets quite crowded on a weekend afternoon. Also if you can, try to eat korean food elsewhere. The food can be a little slow in coming out due to only two staff cooking at a time.
another note: the spa forbids people on their menstrual cycle from using the spa facilities. i confirmed this via a phone call back in August 2025.
