Buyer beware! Do NOT be fooled by any positive reviews for this dealership; they are just as shady as the rest, only better at hiding it until you catch them in the act. Once you do, the nice guy acts disappear. I have proof of their deceptive practices in black and white and am reporting them to the PA Attorney General and the CFPB. I have a copy and recorded everything.
On 6/6, I looked at a 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport with Jae P. Before talking payments, I asked for an itemized breakdown. The first breakdown included a $1,995 care warranty and a $299 security package that I never requested. When I pointed this out, they tried to claim it was an accident and now optional.
I declined both services. Second breakdown/photo, the warranty was removed, yet amount increased and security package was still there. They then tried to claim warranty cost was mistakenly left in the amount (even though line was removed) and security was mandatory because they do a “security check” on cars upon arrival. That is a bold lie, it is a dealer expense they try to sneakily pass on for profit. That has nothing to do with the customer. I again deny service, which they finally agree. Third breakdown/photo, now my registration fees suddenly doubled from $226 to $441. I pointed it out, they tried to blame the $226 cost on a mistake, claiming they calculated PA fees instead of NJ, and $441 was correct. This was an insult since we had confirmed my NJ residency from the start. I now ask for a breakdown of these fees now. Their own third party, Beacon, showed actual fees were only $156.50. They tried to pass a $135 service fee (another dealer expense for third party dmv handling) onto me. Even with that, the total still showed only $291, not $441. They were really trying to pad fees. Once exposed again, Jae’s nice guy act went out the window. He snatched the papers off the table and refused to help. Stating “don’t buy then” with a nasty attitude. Manager Judson came out and was transparent about them not wanting to “eat” these fees. He then agreed to match shown $291, instead of $441 shown.
I told Jae to proceed, thinking we had an agreement and after he previously assured me the $1,000 down payment would work after first breakdown (before the nonsense). I also had my own pre-approvals thru my banks, but I didn't mention it yet because I wanted to see if they could do better. However, now that fees were removed, they claimed I was denied by every lender except one that required $6,000 down. Inflating down payment is a common tactic to squeeze profit when they cannot get you with hidden fees. Fed up, I asked Jae to give me a copy of the paperwork and had to request a manager again because he refused to speak to me once I declined to proceed. I also confirmed from my report they did not run it with all lenders, only TWO, and the approved lender confirmed they DID NOT ASK FOR 6K DOWN on a recorded line!
While talking to Judson, the General Manager, Shane F, approached with a fake, friendly act asking to help. When I explained the situation, he CONTINUED to lie to my face, claiming it was all accidental PA vs NJ fee miscalculations. Once I pointed out the law and details mentioned, he turned his back and dismissed me. When I called him out for his behavior, he gaslit me by claiming I was yelling, became hostile, made childish insults, and told me to get out. Heated, now I'm yelling and we’re exchanging obscenities. Judson, Hakim, and another employee were the only ones who acted professionally and apologized for the experience, even later admitting the paperwork didn't make sense after a conversation.
Something you would think a general manager would do. Jae has been there for 19 years too, imagine how many ppl they have scammed who didn’t know better. Even after, I was going to discuss cash prices with Hakim since he was most helpful, but I went elsewhere! Imagine being rude to a customer because they refused to be scammed? Just diabolical. Do better! Can be up today, but Karma eventually catches up!

BUYER BEWARE! On April 22, 2026, Fred Beans Hyundai of Abington accepted an early return of my 2023 Hyundai Sonata lease in which I entered a new lease for a 2026 Tucson Hybrid. To date (approx. 7 weeks later), the dealership has NOT paid off my remaining balance and returned the Sonata to Hyundai corporate.
Despite my in-person visit and numerous calls over a few weeks, no one has contacted me to resolve this unlawful issue.
I have opened up a case with Hyundai Consumer Affairs and the BBB, sent emails to Beth Beans Gilbert and Shane Franco (the GM), and contacted the PA Attorney General, and my local State Representative in order to get this resolved.
I have paid two payments for a vehicle I no longer have due to the dealership's negligence.
If this is being done to me, perhaps it is a trend for them to hold on to a customer's money for as long as possible prior to paying it off with Hyundai corporate.
There ought to be a law against this... oh wait, there is. And Fred Beans Hyundai of Abington has willfully violated it.
UPDATE: I spoke with Shane, the GM, today and he offered a sincere apology. He furnished a receipt showing that my returned vehicle was 'grounded', and that I will be receiving a refund for my overpayment.
