  Very disappointed with my experience today. I’ve been a frequent AutoZone customer for years and have used this particular location many times. Generally, I’ve received good service here, and the employees have been helpful with minor issues, which makes today’s experience even more frustrating. I was about 50 miles from my destination when my car battery died. I made it to this AutoZone, had the battery tested, and they confirmed that it needed to be replaced. I was prepared to purchase a new battery for roughly $300 and have it installed. I was then told they “could not install it” because there was a plastic cover and a bracket over the battery. I was told this was company policy. We’re talking about a basic cover and two screws. On a Sunday, stranded away from where I needed to be, this put me in a terrible position. I understand that companies have policies and employees have to follow them, but there also needs to be some reasonable judgment and willingness to help a customer. In my opinion, the employee I dealt with took the policy far too literally and simply didn’t seem interested in helping. The most frustrating part? I drove down the street to Advance Auto Parts, explained what had happened, and the employee there practically laughed at the situation. He was happy to remove the cover, install the battery, and take my business. Problem solved. AutoZone lost an approximately $300 sale today and, unfortunately, a longtime customer as well. I had never dealt with this particular employee before, and based on my previous experiences at this location, I expected much better. Extremely disappointing customer service when I genuinely needed some help.

  Avoid the royersford location! They are rude and not helpful. My husband and I broke down across the street (battery died). We were gonna buy a new battery but asked if they could jump us so we could make it back to the store and/or home so we could replace the battery Well they immediately said they couldn't help and there was nothing they could do. We walked to advanced down the street and they allowed us to borrow a battery pack that allowed us to jump the car, drive it to Advance for them to install the new battery WHATEVER U DO , DONT GO TO AUTOZONE.

  I came into the store with my son to buy a battery for his Jeep. Not only did they have the battery in stock but they installed it for free.... and fast!
