- MMManda Mays3 days ago2.0The only reason I'm giving them two stars instead of one is because Austin, the installer, was awesome. I would give him 5 stars. However, Safelight as a whole only deserves one. I was quoted a price for a package and then had to spend over an hour on the phone trying to pay that price instead of what was billed. I wasn't even arguing about taxes or the additional recycling fee (which should be included in the original price since it's mandatory). They were charging me roughly $30 more for the package itself. After over an hour on the phone, they eventually agreed to charge me closer to what had been advertised. Unbeknownst to me, this is apparently their standard business practice because my brother and a couple of friends have since told me about having very similar experiences with Safelight. I would think that a company, whose name is practically ubiquitous with the windshield replacement game at this point, would make sure not to participate in a bait and switch scheme.

But the main reason I’m writing this review is to rave about how convenient and stress free it was when Safelite involved my insurance provider from their end. A few minutes of answering basic questions, and the windshield replacement was covered with no deductible. I paid zero dollars and zero cents to replace my cracked windshield, after making zero calls to my insurance, just answering some questions while we set up my appointment. 11 out of five stars for convenience.
