Made an appointment to get my 2018 Jeep Compass for an inspection early in the morning when the store opened. Waited all day and never heard anything. By 530pm, I made many phone calls to the store when someone finally answered the phone. I asked if my car was finished and the manager Jordan informed me that they never looked at it yet and will not be able to get it done. Why schedule an appointment when they will not look at your car. I kept on telling him that that's why i made an appointment. He he just shrugged me off.
To no avail with the situation I asked for corporates phone number to see if they are able to help with my problem. I desperately needed my car for the next day. After waiting for a while I was told nothing was going to get done from the corporate advisor. So I was literally screwed, but wait, i was promised a $30 service voucher for my troubles. Lol
With no way to get my car that day, i had to leave it and call off of work the next day because of the inconvenience that the company gave me.
Onto the next day, I received a call from the wonderful service manager Jordan who personally inspected my car and miraculously found $3200 in repairs for it to pass inspection. Was it because the car actually needed it or was it a response for me calling corporate on the location?
Well, I took the car somewhere else and passed the inspection with no issues. So, who is trying to overcharge the customer with unnecessary repairs. I have brought all cars to this location for years and the service has gotten worse year by year. And I am officially never bringing my car back to this company. I have even spoke with a manager before from a different location and told me that their District Manager forces the stores to upcharge the customers with unwanted services to make there numbers for the week. Bad business all the way around.
I hope the message gets to customers and avoid this company all together. Money is tight for everyone and we don't need these practices for are hard working money.
if you're a young girl or female in general don't even waste your time. just to preface, every other time i've come in with a man i've never had any issues. this might be a long one so i apologize, but i'll try to keep it quick.
i had an appointment thursday afternoon, i go in, they tell me "oh sorry we only have one inspector here you need to come back tomorrow morning theres only one car infront of you." annoying but whatever, i dropped it off the next day at 11 am and asked if they'd be done by 4pm as i had to work that evening. they told me there were 2-3 cars infront of me but they'll "try their best." but just yesterday there was only one?
fast forward to 2:30 pm that day, i get a call, long story short i "needed" 2 new front tires and a new wheel bearing. i along with my parents knew this was a lie as we JUST replaced my tires. monro had set an estimate of $1,844. as you can imagine, i, being an 18 year old hearing that was just in a state of shock and i dont even know what to do right now.
my parents decided to go down to the shop and talk to the workers. well, come to find out, they LIED over the phone claiming i "needed" these things done when 1) my stepdad was in the back, looking at my car, touching where they said "made a noise," what do yall think he heard? i'll tell you, nothing! also the mechanic ADMITTED TO LYING about my wheel bearing. like i'm sorry but if you're gonna lie at least be confident and maybe make it look believable 😭. when your showing me brand new tires and saying "well uh yeah they're worn down to the secondary rubber" what on earth makes you think im gonna agree? also i'd like to add my stepdad was a mechanic for over 10 years and had his inspection license, so it's safe to say he knew what to look for and ask about. but do yall see? a man comes in who knows about cars and all of a sudden i don't actually need this work done on my car. weird.
we took my car to a different, smaller, location and after we explained what monro had said, they looked at my tires and laughed in our faces. they said and i kid you not "i hope your joking. they tried to fail you for these?" after a longer look they told me the only thing i needed was rear brakes and rotors, which we new. funny enough they're price was less than half of monros 🤣 they also told us a little fun fact i'll share with you all: if someone you know or you yourself had something like this happen, contact state police! what these shops are doing to not just women, but younger kids, older people, is not okay and it's just gonna continue if no one says anything
all in all, please take your business somewhere else, and to all the girls and women out there, save yourselves from whatever is happening here and most importantly, save your money!!!

This is a real review by a real human and no I will not take this down no matter what so dont ask. Do better Monro! Six years ago I left a review because this was the one and only shop we used for general repairs and inspections for multiple vehicles. Since then it has taken a nosedive to the very bottom of my list, and it should be at the bottom of your list as well. The place has went so far downhill they ran everyone off that used to work there. The current staff they have now are not very personable nor are they knowledgeable in their field of work. Not a very good combination for your company if you ask me..but what do I know?…cars. I know about cars, in fact I worked in auto service myself for 10 years with a PA state inspection license, so you could say I have some knowledge or at least the very simple basics of following a checklist to say a vehicle is roadworthy or not in Pennsylvania…every year it’s the same routine. Take it in for inspection and they would call and say I’d need at least two tires. It would not matter if the tires had 3 miles or 30,000 miles, somehow we always needed two tires but miraculously when we would go to pick it up we would be told we could get by till winter. Except today. I was told today that the car needed 2 tires because they were worn down to the “secondary rubber” on the outer edges of the tires but had 7/32 or more tread depth (still over half life left), also was told that it needed a wheel bearing but yet when I checked it while at the shop there was no noise or vertical or horizontal play, and last we needed rear brakes and rotors. All for the staggering price of $1,800+. Yes that’s right almost two thousand dollars for work on a very basic Hyundai suv. Last let’s mention the invoice or lack there of. We asked about how they come up with the total we owed for just the inspection and emissions because for some strange reason if you add up their prices and add sales tax it still didn’t add up to what they were saying we owed and shocker…it was saying we owed more than it should have been by four dollars. And when asked about that we were told that paper was just an estimate and the final invoice would be printed after we payed. Seems weird but whatever, well when we payed and the new paper was printed it still showed exactly the same as the first one. Also be aware of all the service fees and disposal fees and shop supply fees. On the insane estimate there was a $8 service fee, a $4 shop supply fee, and a $45 disposal fee which is very weird since there would be about $15 worth of scrap metal, so not sure why they would change me $45 for them to also get $15 more in scrap. At least a couple good things happened here…1) I drove one mile down the road and got it all taken care of correctly and it was only 1/5 of monro estimate… and 2) I got to post this ridiculous review of a shoddy business that honestly should be shut down for good! So if you work hard for your money and don’t want to be taken advantage then go somewhere else…literally anywhere else. And I hate to say it but if you are a woman or an elder you will be taken advantage of so you have been warned. Also I attached picture of said tires that are less than 8,000 miles old and said to not pass inspection. The Pennsylvania state police will also have the picture in my complaint as well. It’s sad really that this day we sort of expect to be taken advantage of to some degree, but this is just plain robbery. I really wish I could have the money back ($42 back for the state inspection fee pass or fail) but if my review saves someone else then at least that softens the blow a little. ZERO STARS AMD DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

Really poor service. I went to drop the car off for state inspection with only a tire pressure light. I leave with the cars check engine light on, LDA light flashing, pre-collision light flashing, engine reduce power light flashing and more. The workers did not want to except responsibility and argued with me stating that I came in for a check engine light and water pump. That was in fact a lie. There is more, but really poor service and untrustworthy location.

I brought my vehicle to Monro for a tune-up, splash guard repair, and other maintenance. During the inspection, the team identified additional issues that they recommended repairing. I agreed to all of the work, ultimately spending $3,165.
The experience quickly became frustrating.
After I was told my vehicle would be ready, I Ubered back to the shop to pick it up. Upon arrival, I was informed that the final spark plug replacement had uncovered additional problems involving oil contamination and another required part that had not been anticipated. As a result, I could not take my car home and had to arrange additional transportation.
The next morning, I noticed my splash guard was dragging on the road again—the same issue I had originally brought the car in for. I called and was told to bring it back so they could secure it with zip ties.
While discussing the repairs with Jordan, I mentioned that I expected my tire pressure issue to have been addressed during the tune-up. He assured me that all four tires had been checked and were properly inflated. When I asked why my tire pressure warning light was still on, he told me the likely cause was a dead TPMS sensor battery and explained that the sensors would need to be replaced.
Minutes later, another employee pulled my vehicle out and noticed the tire pressure warning light. He checked the tires and discovered that the right front tire was actually “super low” on air. This directly contradicted what I had just been told. After he inflated the tire, the warning light disappeared shortly after I left the shop.
So which was it? A dead sensor battery or a tire that simply needed air?
This inconsistency left me questioning the accuracy of the inspection and the quality of the work performed. After spending over $3,000, I should not be leaving with less confidence in my vehicle than when I arrived.
Additionally, I was expecting to receive the Monro ConfiDrive Performance Review that is advertised as part of their service process, but I never received one.
The entire experience left me feeling like communication was poor, quality control was lacking, and important details were either overlooked or misrepresented. For a repair bill of this size, I expected much better.
