  I believe AutoZone, as a company, needs to place a greater emphasis on ensuring customers receive accurate guidance rather than focusing primarily on sales. After speaking with my mechanic, he explained that years ago AutoZone often hired retired, certified mechanics to assist customers. That approach made sense because customers were receiving advice from people with real automotive knowledge. Unfortunately, I've now been misinformed by AutoZone representatives on two separate occasions. There seems to be a disconnect between what a customer's vehicle actually needs and what employees are recommending or selling. For example, I was encouraged to purchase a single fuel injector for approximately $270, only to later learn that comparable fuel injectors are sold for around $10.99. That recommendation was completely inappropriate, and I'm grateful I returned the part before installing it. Experiences like this suggest that sales goals are being prioritized over providing customers with accurate, reliable information. Hiring employees without sufficient automotive knowledge makes it more difficult for customers to make informed decisions, leading to wasted time, unnecessary expenses, and frustration. If these experiences continue, I will take my business elsewhere. Customer loyalty is built on trust, and that trust depends on knowledgeable employees who prioritize solving the customer's problem—not simply increasing sales. I hope AutoZone will reconsider its hiring and training practices so customers can once again rely on your stores for accurate, trustworthy automotive guidance.
