I had such a great experience at Mavis Tire! I ended up with a flat tire and needed help getting my spare put on, and Antoine was incredibly helpful. He was kind, professional, and made the whole situation so much less stressful. He got the team to get my spare tire on quickly and made sure I was good to go before leaving.
It’s so appreciated when someone goes out of their way to help, especially during an unexpected situation like a flat tire. Thank you so much, Antoine and Mavis Tire, for the amazing customer service! Highly recommend!

This place is overpriced for their services. They fixed my brake line wrong and quoted me $2500 for my struts. I went to my other mechanic in north Philly, got the job done for $500 just for them to tell me whoever did my brake line did it completely wrong and that’s why my brake pad was so spongy, all thanks to this place.
To top it all off, the inside drivers side was completely dirty and covered in oil from the mechanics working on it and going in and out of my car. I will never go back here. Take your money elsewhere.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Marvis Tire and am posting this review to document exactly what happened.
I brought my Honda to Marvis Tire because I was experiencing a loss of power that I believed could be related to the battery. I specifically asked the owner five separate times to diagnose whether the problem was a faulty battery or a faulty alternator and to check the voltage being produced by the alternator before any replacement was performed.
Instead, I was told that the shop did not have batteries in stock but did have an alternator for my Honda, which I was told would cost over $1,000 to replace. The owner assured me that he would diagnose the problem before replacing the alternator. According to my receipt, however, there is no documentation that this diagnostic testing was performed.
I also specifically explained that I had previously dealt with a garage that upsold me approximately $200 for a belt that did not need to be replaced and that I could not afford an unnecessary belt replacement. The owner responded that “it's not even possible that an alternator belt could cause battery problems.” Despite that conversation, I was subsequently charged $281.49 for an alternator belt—a belt that I contend was never replaced.
I was also charged an additional $116.09 for a serpentine belt, which I likewise contend was never replaced.
Most seriously, I was charged for an alternator replacement that I contend was never performed. The owner had no demonstrated experience to me with replacing alternators, yet insisted that he had the correct alternator in stock and proceeded with the repair despite my repeated requests that the battery and alternator first be properly diagnosed.
After being told that the work was completed and that I would have no problem driving from Philadelphia to Lancaster, I left the shop. Within approximately three miles, after stopping for gas, my vehicle would not start. The exact battery-related problem I had originally brought the vehicle in for was still occurring.
I immediately called Marvis Tire and explained that the same exact problem was happening again with the battery. Rather than addressing the issue or standing behind the repair, I was told, in substance, that it was not his problem and that I should go somewhere else to buy a battery.
I then had the vehicle towed to Pep Boys. I was informed there that the alternator did not need to be replaced and that the vehicle simply needed a battery. Pep Boys installed the battery, at no charge for the installation, and the vehicle was road-ready.
In other words, I went to Marvis Tire specifically asking for a diagnosis of a battery/alternator problem and repeatedly asked that the battery and alternator be properly tested before an expensive repair was performed. I ultimately paid $1,385.74, yet the original problem remained immediately after leaving the shop, requiring a tow and a battery.
The receipt also contains several concerning inaccuracies, including the wrong vehicle information, a blank mileage field, an incorrectly spelled name, and no address despite the owner having requested my address.
The receipt lists $262.50 for “electrical work,” in addition to the charges for the alleged alternator and two belts.
This experience caused me substantial additional expense, including towing costs and lost income because I rely on my vehicle for my business. More importantly, I trusted this shop to diagnose the actual cause of the problem before performing expensive repairs. I believe that trust was misplaced.

I have used Mavis locations religiously. However, the Aramingo location was unprofessional in the 5 minutes I was there. I made an appointment for an inspection today online. About 20 minutes later I got an email saying my appointment slot was approved for an inspection. I show up & he told me “we do not have an inspector today.” I explained that the appointment slot was approved & I was confused on how I got an approved appointment without an inspector. He said “if you would have called then I would’ve told you there was no inspection today.” Respectfully, I am the one who should have received the call about the inspector being out today. I then asked if they could just do an oil change instead. He went out to my car, got the info he needed and said he read my inspection sticker on my car and that I’m not due for one anyway. My inspection has been out since December of 2025. If he can’t even read the date on the car correctly, I fear for what he would have misread on the car and the work to be done to it.

I’ve had a horrible experience. I arrived on time to my appointment and it took about an hour to get my car even in the garage (I was the first and only person waiting). The technician showed up late. I came to receive a tire rotation and upon inspection was told that I needed my brake pads replaced as soon as possible and was lucky I did have an issues with it so far as it was unsafe to stay driving the car due to the conditions. I was quoted close to $600 for all repairs. Last year I replaced my brakes and rotors, so this sounded a little strange to me. I have a warranty with the location I purchased the brakes (Midas on Cottman Ave) and told them I would take it to them to address. Once I stated this, the customer service changed and was treated coldly and was pressured to say I would do it. They stated I would still have to pay to go to the other location for labor (which is not an issue). I took my car back to where I bought the brakes for inspection and they told me there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with my brake pads and showed me the thickness of the brakes. I was told my car would pass inspection right now and these type of interactions and scare tactics are what give mechanics a bad name. Even they were irritated and remorseful. Be wary of going to Mavis as a woman alone.. Scammy.
