Update 6/7/26:
I filed my complaint on May 22, 2026, the same day I picked up my rental vehicle. I returned the vehicle on May 29, 2026. As of June 7, 2026, I have not received any communication from a regional manager regarding my complaint, despite making multiple requests for regional management to contact me.
Original review:
My name is Iris Villanueva, and this review is based on my own personal experience with the branch manager, Jonah, at the location on 6800 Rising Sun Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19111. This review is especially for people who value their finances and do not appreciate being overcharged for services they are paying for.
I usually make my reservations through customer service instead of local offices, and I always check rental prices online beforehand.
On February 13, 2026, I called customer service looking for a standard size SUV, but I was told there were no SUVs available anywhere in Philadelphia. I called several other locations and kept hearing the same thing until I contacted the Rising Sun Ave. location.
A young lady named Rayna answered the phone, and she was extremely kind and helpful both over the phone and in person. She told me to arrive by 2:00 p.m. because a rental would be available, and she set up my reservation for me. When I arrived, Jonah handled my rental. I had reserved a standard SUV for two days at a daily rate of $91.60. Including my $400 deposit, the total should have been $583.20. However, when Jonah processed my debit card, he claimed the payment didn't go through.
I knew something was wrong because I had already added enough funds to my account earlier that day. I asked him to try it again, but quickly changed my mind and I asked if there was a PNC Bank nearby, and thankfully there was one directly across the street. I explained the situation to the bank teller, who checked my account and showed me that the amount being charged was actually $685.27 instead of $583.20.
That means Jonah attempted to charge me an extra $102.07
When I returned and explained this to him, he brushed it off by saying, "Oh really? That's weird." I understand people make mistakes, but being overcharged by more than $100 by a branch manager is concerning.
After that, we completed the walk-around inspection of a Jeep Compass. I always take photos and videos of the outside, inside, and the fuel gauge of rental vehicles, which I highly recommend everyone do.
Later, I called the office to ask if they had something slightly larger available, and I was told a Chevy Equinox was available. I returned and exchanged vehicles. Another employee handled that process, not Jonah
The day after returning the vehicle, I called to check whether everything passed inspection. The employee I spoke with initially claimed the vehicle should have been returned with a full tank of gas. However, I informed him that I had taken a photo of the fuel gauge before leaving the lot. Once I mentioned the photo evidence, he quickly adjusted the charge and told me my full $400 deposit would be refunded.
Since then, I have rented from this location several more times, and I've noticed that my return times keep getting changed even though I never requested any changes. I also recently learned that Enterprise allows a 29 minute grace period for returns, which customers should be aware of.
As I write this review, I am currently in another rental from this location and waiting for higher management to contact me regarding a complaint I filled against Jonah. My current pickup time was listed as 5:43 p.m., but my drop-off time is listed as 4:30 p.m., which is clearly less than a 24-hour rental cycle.
Overall, Rayna provided excellent customer service, but my experience involving Jonah have left me concerned about billing accuracy and rental agreement changes.
