Poor customer service. Employees noticed me waiting outside of an empty Bay #1, finished their conversation before motioning me to enter. Had to ask for some basics that were standard at an Illinois location (check tire pressure/headlights/brake lights/turn signals). Felt like my presence was an inconvenience to their day
The Rodi Rd. location in Penn Hills has a fantastic team of technicians and offers great discounts for veterans. I can highly recommend this particular location.
Yesterday my friend, who is not American, visited your oil change service and came back with serious problems. How can you treat customers this way?
You broke 4 out of 6 bolts on the skid plate/protection cover. The skid plate itself is fine, but the bolts were damaged during your service. How does something like this happen?
On top of that, he paid for premium oil, but it appears that regular oil was used instead.
What kind of discrimination and unprofessional treatment is this?
Who is going to take responsibility for the damage and this unacceptable service?
Dear Valvoline Customer Service,
I am writing to formally express my concern regarding a today oil change service performed at your Penn Hills, PA location on Frankstown Road for my 2022 Honda Insight Touring.
According to my service invoice, your technicians installed Valvoline 0W-20 API SP Full Synthetic Oil. As you are aware, full synthetic oil of this specification is commonly rated for oil change intervals of approximately 7,500–10,000 miles under normal driving conditions and manufacturer recommendations.
However, after the service, I noticed that the maintenance reminder sticker placed on my windshield instructs me to return for another oil change at 58,000 miles, despite the service being completed at 55,000 miles — a recommendation of only 3,000 miles.
This raises serious concerns and confusion regarding the product and service provided. If I was charged for premium full synthetic oil, I would like to understand why I received a recommendation typically associated with conventional oil or outdated service practices.
I respectfully request clarification on the following:
Was Valvoline 0W-20 API SP Full Synthetic Oil actually installed in my vehicle as stated on the invoice?
Why was a 3,000-mile interval recommended despite the use of full synthetic oil?
Is this a standard company policy, or was there a specific reason related to my vehicle?
Additionally, during this same service visit, I discovered that several bolts securing the engine splash shield/skid plate were not properly tightened after the oil change. This created a potentially dangerous situation while driving and raises further concerns about the quality control and professionalism of the service performed.
As a customer, I expect accurate recommendations, proper workmanship, and transparency regarding the services and products I am paying for.
I would appreciate a prompt response and clarification from your corporate office regarding these issues.

Dear Management,
I am very almost 9 years customer valvoline This first time i came different valvoline location. I am writing to formally report a serious issue regarding a today oil change service performed at your location.
After the service was completed, I discovered that the underbody protection/skid plate was not properly secured. Out of the 6 mounting bolts, only 2 were installed correctly, while 4 bolts were either left loose or completely missing. As a result, the cover became unstable while I was driving, creating a highly dangerous situation that nearly caused an accident.
In addition to the safety concern, the overall quality of the work was extremely careless and unprofessional. The vehicle was left in a messy condition after the service.
This level of negligence is unacceptable, especially when it directly affects customer safety. I request that this matter be investigated immediately and that appropriate action be taken. I would also appreciate a response regarding how your company intends to address and resolve this issue.
