Recently, my sister's car broke down near the AutoZone in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania. Thankfully, her car problems occurred near enough to this AutoZone for her to be able to coast her car into the parking lot for diagnosis and repair. As it turned out, her car needed a new battery, coolant hose replacement with associated fluid, new wiper blades, and several other miscellaneous services and repairs. Although the store manager, Ben, was literally clocking out of work for the day at the very time of this vehicle incident, he took considerable time to cheerfully handle all necessary repairs. I should mention that my sister is a senior citizen who was in understandable angst while speaking with me on speaker phone during this entire incident. Ben patiently spoke with me (by the way, I live in Kentucky, whereas my sister lives in Pennsylvania), walking me through each and every diagnosed need for repair. After completing all required work, Ben successfully got my sister’s car back on the road.
I have rarely, if ever, observed anybody, in any customer-service capacity, act with such compassion, thoroughness, and patience. As he aptly said to me over the phone: "When I saw your sister's car broken down at my store, I could not just leave work for the day and leave her stranded."
In short, Ben is a phenomenal credit to AutoZone, which is most fortunate to have a manager of such high-caliber professional skill level and personal character. He should be commended for his outstanding service well above and beyond the call of duty.
