SPRINGTIME MAINTENANCE FOR SMOOTH RIDES AHEAD

Batteries

Cold weather takes its toll on batteries. Now that winter is behind us, stop by for a free battery check to make sure your car has the power for smooth operation in the springtime weather. If you need a new one, we carry batteries with proven tough coverage from Duralast, plus performance options like Optima and Odyssey and economical buys from Valucraft. We have everything you need to keep your car powered all year long.

Brakes

Springtime brings sunny days and much needed rain. Stop on a dime year round with brake system maintenance. Reliable stopping starts at AutoZone. Get Duralast brakes that meet or exceed OE, economical options from Valucraft, or performance brakes from Brembo, EBC, and more.

Motor Oil

When the temperature warms up the oil in your vehicle thins, which can strain your engine if too thin. When shopping oil for warmer months, use thicker oil. It is recommended to change your oil every 3,000 to 5,000 miles.

Windshield Wipers

Windshield Wiper Blades should be replaced every six months to a year. A fresh set of wiper blades are important for spring months. Cool conditions can make dirt, pollen, and water more stubborn to wipe away, increasing the wear and tear on your wipers.

My truck became disabled by extreme cold weather while I was visiting family in Lewisburg, Pa. I reside in central NJ. I suspected that the fuel in my diesel truck had gelled. The only store in the area that had the fluid necessary to re-liquify the fuel was in Mifflinburg. I placed the order online and set out for Mifflinburg. While on route to the Mifflinburg AutoZone, I received a call from “Isiah” (may be spelled incorrectly) informing me that all three bottles of the fluid that I needed had been damaged in transit to his store and that he could not sell them to me. I explained my predicament and he said that if I bring a suitable container for the fluid, he would transfer the remaining fluid from the damaged containers to my viable container. Upon my arrival he and another employee transferred the fluid to my container and provided me the fluid at no cost. The next day I received a call from Isiah. He wanted to know if the fluid had corrected my vehicle’s issue. I informed him that I was unable to introduce the fluid to the fuel tank because it was draining out of the filler neck’s overflow tube. He informed me that, since my vehicle had a capless fuel tank, there was a second “flap” and that I could get the fluid past it with a longer tube or a funnel with a longer neck. I purchased a funnel with a longer neck, successfully added the fluid to my fuel tank and, within one hour, was back on the road. At the time Isiah called me, I was busy calling auto repair shops to see if someone could address my problem. Thanks to Isiah, I was able to avoid the inconvenience and the expense of taking my truck to a repair shop. This young man is knowledgeable, helpful, professional, courteous and caring.
