  Was in need of a quick rear shock replacement before an out of town trip. I scheduled an online appt. My truck was taken in quickly on a very busy day, and shocks were completed within 2 hours. The timely repair was greatly appreciated.

  I recently went here out of necessity and was reminded why I usually avoid large chain repair shops. I brought my van in for a Pennsylvania state inspection, and they failed it. I was given an estimate of about $2,700 for the repairs they said were required for it to pass inspection. They identified that I needed new rear brake pads, new rear rotors, new rear tires, headlight restoration kit, new wipers, alignment, a CV shaft replacement, and a control arm replacement. The following week, I took the same van to the independent mechanic I've trusted for years. They inspected it, and it passed inspection with no issues. They even said the brake pads were fine and wouldn't need to be touched until next year. I did choose to have the CV shaft repaired for $225 (parts and labor), but they told me it was not required for the vehicle to pass inspection. Interestingly, Monro had identified that same part as something that had to be replaced for the inspection and quoted me around $700 for that single repair. Based on my experience, I'd recommend getting a second opinion before approving any major repairs here. It potentially saved me thousands of dollars.

  Monro on Oregon Pike is our go to place for all of our auto shop needs!! They are always honest and kind, with very reasonable prices so we keep going back. The manager there will take care of you and you know you are getting the right work done. We won't go anywhere else!
