I had a great experience here, the person who helped me is named James. He was super nice and explained everything in detail to me. I was a loyal customer of Mavis in Hatfield for approximately six years. Unfortunately, after management and staff changed, so did the quality of service and my trust in the shop.
During one visit, they were supposed to complete a tire rotation which is included with their oil change. When I picked up my vehicle, I immediately noticed that the same scuffed rims that had been on the driver’s side before service were still in the exact same locations afterward. Based on what I observed, I do not believe the tire rotation was performed as represented despite being told it was complete.
The more serious issue involved my tie rods. I was told they were seized and that I needed a repair estimated at approximately $1,300. Concerned about the cost, I sought a second opinion from another shop and went to Mall Auto in Montgomeryville and Matt inspected the vehicle on a lift, freed and lubricated the components within minutes, and advised that replacement was not necessary at that time.
That experience left me questioning whether the recommended repair was truly needed. As a customer, it is frustrating to feel pressured into expensive repairs that another qualified mechanic determines are unnecessary.
Because of these experiences, I have chosen to take my business elsewhere. I have had far better experiences with other local shops that I found to be honest, knowledgeable, and fair in their recommendations and pricing.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I believe customers deserve to know why a long-time customer decided to stop doing business here. I highly recommend Mall Auto and Midas of Souderton
