HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!Unsatisfactory Service and Unauthorized Toll Charges
I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this Enterprise location. Over a month after returning the vehicle, my credit card was repeatedly billed for toll charges I never incurred, as I did not drive through any toll plazas during my rental period. Toll transponders and potential fees were never disclosed or discussed at the time of pickup.
Even after closing my initial credit card account due to a suspected fraudulent charge of $125, a secondary charge of $10.44 processed via a recurring account token. My financial institution had to intervene to completely remove the token and stop further unauthorized processing. When I contacted the branch, I was informed that this issue occurs frequently.
The lack of transparency regarding toll transponders and the ongoing erroneous billing after contract completion are unacceptable. I will not be renting from Enterprise or this specific branch in the future, and I advise prospective customers to exercise caution.

We have gotten 3 rental cars through this company since February. The first car received was so filthy and smelled so incredibly foul that my fiancé cleaned it as soon as we got home. Unable to get rid of the smell, the car was exchanged for another which was again dirty but not as smelly (hire my fiancé as a detailer at this point).
Now due to car repairs, we again received a rental car through this location recently. This car smells so terribly of weed it’s unbelievable. I have nothing against weed, but to receive a rental that reeks of it is extremely unprofessional. I pray he isn’t pulled over or they’re going to assume there is weed in the car. Mind you we also have 2 kids who we need to transport. My fiancé AGAIN cleaned the car at home and used multiple air fresheners to try and get rid of the smell. I will be going out of my way to a different location moving forward.

Everyone at the Paxton St. (Harrisburg, PA) office was so friendly and accommodating. I had to extend multiple times due to delays with fixing my vehicle. And then gave me permission to leave it at the body shop for pick up. Also, when they didn't have an available SUV on the lot, they gave me special incentives to take a minivan. It took almost no time to get used to driving an unfamiliar vehicle and by the end of my rental, I almost hated having to give it back. I could not recommend them more!
This branch helped us out with a vehicle switch when no other branch within an hour was able or willing to. And when I walked in, another customer was raving to the supervisor about how helpful the staff here was to fix the issue he came in about. Every employee I spoke to went above and beyond to help out and make things right. 100% recommend this branch for a rental!
I have been a loyal Enterprise customer for over eight years, and until today I have always had positive experiences. Unfortunately, my experience with Branch Manager Benjamin was extremely disappointing.
When I attempted to rent a vehicle, I was told that I could not use my debit card because I live more than 50 miles from the branch. However, my understanding of Enterprise’s corporate rental policy is that customers who live more than 50 miles from a branch may still rent with a debit card as long as they possess a valid driver’s license from the same state in which the branch is located. I meet that requirement, as I have a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and was renting from a Pennsylvania location.
During our conversation, Benjamin stated that this branch has its own rules and does not follow Enterprise’s corporate-issued policies. That statement was both surprising and concerning. As this is a corporate Enterprise location, I would expect all employees and managers to consistently follow company policies rather than create branch-specific rules that conflict with corporate guidelines.
Over the past eight years, I have rented from numerous Enterprise locations throughout Pennsylvania using my Pennsylvania driver’s license and debit card without ever encountering this issue. Because I was denied a rental today based on what I believe was an incorrect interpretation of company policy, I missed several important appointments and experienced significant inconvenience.
Benjamin also stated that he had consulted with a higher-ranking manager before denying my rental. If that is the case, I would appreciate clarification on the official Enterprise policy regarding debit card rentals for customers who reside more than 50 miles from the branch but hold a valid driver’s license from the same state. If the policy has changed, I would appreciate being directed to the updated policy. If not, I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed to ensure corporate policies are being applied consistently across all Enterprise locations.
As a long-time customer, I value the service Enterprise has provided over the years. I hope this complaint is taken seriously so that future customers do not experience the same frustration and inconvenience that I did today.
