Had an appointment for a tech to come to my house to replace a windshield, but it was pouring, and I didnt have sufficient space in my garage. The tech, Connor, asked if I could bring it to the shop, luckily I had the time and went straight out there. Connor greeted me at the desk, pulled my car in, and was done within an hour!
There are 2 sensors that are in the windshield under the rear view mirror that needed to be calibrated, and ill admit, I was skeptical. but everything was installed and calibrated correctly with exceptional professionalism. I know because one of the camera/sensors are a collision detection system and its sensitive and thinks its a collision when someone is turning on to a road 40 ft in front of me. (Hyundai, yes I can turn it off, but I like the feature in the office chance I would need it someday) .
And the other sensor is the wiper speed for rain. And it was a rainy day, and I tried out the settings everything worked as it should.
So if you have any concerns about those camera systems....Safelite knows what they're doing. And they have a warranty on the glass as long as theres no impact, any defects or cracks, they'll take care of ya.
Connor at safelite Greensburg was professional, nice, and responsible tech. I felt safe leaving the car in his hands.
Word to the wise, if you get a windshield replaced, they are not allowed by law to put the inspection stickers back on. So maybe make an appointment the same day afterwards to go to where you got your inspection and have them put new ones on. I went the mike camlin hyundai, and they squeezed me in and it was like $20 for sticker replacement.
No big deal but just something to keep in mind. You cant go driving around without stickers on.
Would highly recommend safelite to anyone. Less hassle and cheaper than dealership!
