Pulled in at 3:45 with a piece of wire in the tire told the guy at the desk we needed to get the tire repaired. We had driven 15-20 miles with the wire embedded in the tire. The guy tells us to come back in one hour. To see if they can fix it. But they don’t have our size tires in stock. If they can’t fix it they will put the spare on for us. He broadcasts this as if he is a YouTube influencer.
He then tells us he going to take a look comes back and says he doesn’t think it can be fixed because it’s a long piece of wire blah, blah, blah But we will take a look.
In my estimation having had several occasions to repair tires in my life that all it needs is the wire (like a heavy duty wire hanger) pulled and the tire plugged.
Surprise surprise surprise after he (the guy who runs the reception desk) “looks” at it and makes his pronouncement, we go back to the car and suddenly the tire is leaking profusely and is flat in a couple minutes so we can exit the parking lot.
Thankfully we know how to change the tire so we can go to a reputable place for service.
P.S. years ago we went to a Mavis shop and got excellent, prompt, courteous service. So they are not all the same.
