If I could I would give a 0 star but that’s not an option. Go in on a Saturday morning to buy oil first the tags associated with the item are miss labeled bring that to the attention of the spike hair guy at counter get a dumb look like I was wrong. Does not inform me that they can not take old oil at this time. Fast forward 40 min I come back with my old oil and am told now they can’t accept it as he’s leaning on the counter with air pods in and on his phone. Like is it that hard to work these days. It’s in a container put it to the side and when your drum is picked up you then dumb the oil this is not that hard a third grader could figure that out but this guy he just wants to play on his phone and not work

How do you hire staff including managers that know nothing about auto parts, can’t identify auto parts, can’t recommend auto parts because they know nothing about auto parts nor cars. Makes zero sense. Autozone you need to do better because waiting two days for the only person working there that knows parts to come back to work is unacceptable. Staff there are shelf stockers and cash register tenders.

My check engine light came on some weeks ago. I immediately went to an Autozone near my home (not the Clifton Heights store), where they gave me a diagnostic sheet with all the possible codes that could have caused the check engine light to come on. The possible causes were all over the map, and they literally told me to try fixing *all* the possible problems, starting with the cheapest item first. I was not looking forward to researching all these possible problem areas and randomly fixing them from cheapest to most expensive, in the hope that I would hit the right fix somewhere along the way.
LUCKILY I misplaced the sheet my local store gave me (and they said they don't hold onto your diagnostic results), so when I happened to be near the Clifton Heights Autozone, I stopped in, expecting to start over with the same jumbled results. Instead, Carl S. quickly scanned my car again and then walked me through the results, pointing out the one repair that would likely shut off all the other codes. There was no jumble of unrelated codes, and Carl explained how the additional codes beyond this one fix were less likely to be responsible for the check engine light coming on.
Anyway, thanks to Carl, I'm much more hopeful that I can get this repair done without having to do, like, 10 random repairs. He was extremely professional and polite, and he seemed much more knowledgeable than my local person. And he gave me a logical starting point. Yay, Carl at the Clifton Heights Autozone!

I am sharing my bad experience with AutoZone’s car battery which I bought on 7/17/2026. After AutoZone staff installed the brand new battery into my car, I started the car and heard clicking sounds but not turned on. We tried several times so finally I told him to jump-start my car thinking there was something wrong with my car. He did it and it started. Then I drove to my regular auto repair shop nearby. The mechanics spent several hours searching to see why my car wouldn’t start. Finally they decided to test the AutoZone brand new battery and discovered that it was not good and up to standard. They immediately contacted AutoZone and told them about the problem with their battery which they sold me. My auto repair shop has been doing business with this AutoZone store for years so they know the staff there. AutoZone agreed to exchange me another battery which my mechanic returned and picked up. He installed it, tested the battery and it said GOOD on his tester. My car started immediately.
In the end I had to paid $265 included tax to the auto repair shop for their work. Paid AutoZone $288.91 for a bad battery which caused me aggravation and all of my wasted time.
The moral of the story, make sure to have AutoZone or any other auto stores to test their batteries when they sell you so you don’t have to go through what i wen through !!
