- HKH KJun 2, 20265.0Had a wonderful experience at the clarion store as always. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. One sticks out in particular and I now tend to seek him out. Jim is always cleaning something and never lingering. He greets every customer as a guest with a friendly smile and proper greeting and sometimes a little joke that’s sure to generate a smile. His knowledge is vast and you can be sure to be updated on a product or two that may fit your needs of that he feels are a worthwhile deal. I always leave confident and in a better mood than when i arrived. I highly recommend visiting Jim and his coworkers at the Clarion Advance auto parts for any of your car needs.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
