As soon as I walked in I was impressed. There was only one gentleman behind the register but he was fast on his feet and knowledgeable. I had three people in front of me and I was at the counter in less than 2 minutes. When I asked for the part I needed he went to work immediately and knew just where to find it. After this I had another gentleman named Scott who assisted me in putting the part in my vehicle. Not only did he do it in a timely fashion but he also instructede on other parts of my vehicle that would need attention due to my inspection being due soon. Never have I been as impressed with any auto store as I am with this one. The staff were amazing and helpful and the selection was terrific. The Pullman Square location will forever be my one stop shop for my vehicle!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
