When I went in to return the caliper for the correct one I took my old one (core) because they charge 60 bucks for that which is standard procedure. My receipt clearly stated that I paid for this yet the guy behind the desk insisted that I didn't pay the core charge. Obviously he couldnt add. I left because I just wanted my vehicle fixed but after doing that and cooling down I returned to the store to show the manager that I did indeed pay and since they took my core when I returned the new incorrect unit I was being screwed over. At first they began to argue and then said they would do this as a "one time good faith" so in conclusion I think I will shop at another more honest store. I know that this situation happens a lot maybe they just need to hire more people that have common sense skills.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
