- JAJax AcerSep 19, 20261.0Gas pumps do not turn of automatically when your tank is full, I'm glad I left my car door open when I wanted for it to fill, only to find that the pump didn't disengage and was pouring fuel all over my vehicle and the ground. The lock mechanism to keep the fuel going hands free jammed and would not release, causing me to get covered in gasoline as I tried to fix it. Gas pumps were so slow, we calculated it would take over 20 minutes to fill the truck that was half empty, so we just ended up leaving. Perfect way to start off a 12+ hour driving day across the country, covered in gasoline and vehicles not even filled.
