  We had a confirmed 11:30 AM reservation at the Downtown Albuquerque Enterprise, but unfortunately no car was available when we arrived. We had originally looked at renting from the airport, which was sold out, so it seems Enterprise’s reservation system allowed us to book downtown even though the shortage of cars was affecting this location as well. We ultimately didn’t receive a vehicle until about 3:30 PM. That said, Branch Manager Lauren Bates and her team handled a difficult situation exceptionally well. We decided to make the best of the wait and walked downtown for lunch and shopping. When a vehicle finally became available, instead of the full-size car we had reserved, we received a Jeep Grand Cherokee at the same rate—which we ended up really enjoying for our trip around northern New Mexico. Our plans changed and we eventually returned the Jeep to the same Albuquerque location rather than making the originally planned one-way return. Lauren remembered us immediately, and we had a very enjoyable reunion. She thanked us again for being patient on pickup day and even took $50 off our final bill as a gesture of goodwill. The four-hour wait for a confirmed reservation is something Enterprise really needs to address in its reservation and inventory system, but I can’t fault the local team for how they handled it. Lauren turned what could have been a very negative start to our rental into an experience we ultimately felt very good about. Five stars for Lauren and the Downtown Albuquerque team. Thanks for taking such good care of us!

  Lauren at Enterprise car rental in Albuquerque would be the top reason to book again with Enterprise. Personable, kind, knowledgeable

  They offered a 3/4 tank fuel discount since my car was not ready for me, then charged me for the full tank of fuel anyway. It's not worth pursuing customer service so I'll just leave this review. Their official reply to this review makes it clear they didn't even read it 😂

  This seems to be a good rental place. Employees are respectful and understanding, even in the face of many angry customers. However, if it is the state fair, balloon fiesta, or any other event, your rental may not be here. If your rental is time sensitive and there's an event, get here 4-5 hours early or take an Uber. If you want a specific type of vehicle, then change your mind and rent on a week without an event.
