  So I’m waiting for parts I ordered from auto zone in the auto parking lot because they are closed and I have my car apart. So security tells me at 12:30at night that auto zone doesn’t allow anyone to be on the property after hours. So I have to put my car together in the dark and hope I can start it? Called IPS securities dispatch, inquired whether they had that address on contract and turns out they do not so that security officer had come on property. He wasn’t contracted to secure and tried to run me off, so AutoZone is still cool with me because turns out it’s just a local security. That’s a hot mess.

  I went to this AutoZone location to purchase the Duralast Electrical Circuit Tester for $6.99 because the app showed it was in stock. When I arrived, the slot for that tester was completely empty. I asked an employee who was in the same aisle if there were any in the back since the app indicated they were available. He told me that if they weren’t on the shelf, then someone must have taken them. Since the item wasn’t available, I started looking at other affordable options. I found a Duralast Test Repair Kit for $11.99 that appeared to include the same tester along with a crimper/stripper. The employee was still standing nearby, so I asked if it was essentially the same tester, just with the additional tools included. His response was, “I don’t know, I don’t work with cars.” That response was surprising. While I understand that not every employee is a mechanic, customers come to AutoZone expecting at least basic product knowledge or assistance finding answers. If he wasn’t sure, a simple, “I’m not certain, but let me check for you,” would have been helpful. I ultimately had to figure it out on my own, which is fine, but it left me wondering what level of customer service and product support customers should expect when shopping in your stores. The lack of assistance was disappointing.
