Best place to rent a vehicle. I often get a selection of vehicles to pick from, the price is great, and the employees are always happy to get me on my way. I no longer rent from anyone else.

I will definitely rent from Alamo again. Clean vehicle and reliable vehicle. Staff was exceptional from the moment I walked up to the counter, picked up the vehicle, and dropped off the key.

I actually used Alamo through Costco, but once I was at my destination, the rental process was very smooth and I liked the 2026 Rogue I was rented.
The only issue I had was when I had driven an hour up to a day visit at Ojo Caliente from Santa Fe, NM and the key Fob wouldn’t work. I figured the battery was dead. I called Alamo for assistance and instead of a little troubleshooting, the technician told me to go get another rental. I was almost three hours away from the airport Alamo and we couldn’t lock the car or anything so we canceled our plans and had to deal with the key Fob problem. We drove 45” to an Auto Zone. The guy there had a battery, but he said it would be unusual for a car that new for the key Fob to go bad. He googled it and said to try putting the key Fob up against the ignition button to reset it and it worked. However, the incident prevented us from the one enjoyable outing during the trip as I was in Santa Fe for a celebration of life. What a shame the person I had on the phone with Alamo didn’t offer this very basic idea to fix the problem. We missed out on the one fun day we had during our trip. The phone technician seemed more like a robot giving very basic guidance about how to turn the car in because the key Fob wasn’t working with no guidance about how it could be fixed. It would have taken her one minute to explain this basic fix and we would have been on our way. Because of this less than personal service I probably won’t go with Alamo again.

I rarely write public reviews unless I'm either genuinely impressed or seriously let down by a product or service. In this case, it's the latter—and the experience has been frustrating enough that I feel compelled to share it.
My family and I recently traveled from Rhode Island to Albuquerque, New Mexico for a vacation. All of our travel arrangements were prepaid, including a one-week car rental through Alamo (~$740), which I had booked roughly three weeks in advance. The reservation specified Albuquerque International Sunport as both the pickup and return location, and I also opted to add the damage waiver for peace of mind.
Initially, everything went smoothly. The vehicle was clean, had low mileage, and got excellent fuel economy. We did not have any issue with the car and returned it with the tank full and in clean condition. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end.
Two days before our scheduled return—while we were still actively using the car in New Mexico—Alamo charged my credit card an unexpected sum of over $1,200. I didn't notice this charge until after we had already returned home to Rhode Island. When I logged into my Alamo Insider account to investigate, I was alarmed to find that the original rental agreement I had signed (and that Alamo had emailed me) was no longer accessible. In its place, the trip history showed that the same vehicle, with the same license plate, had supposedly been returned to Los Angeles International Airport two days before our actual return date—after being driven only 198 miles from Albuquerque to Los Angeles. For context, the actual distance between the two cities is closer to 800 miles. The starting and ending odometer readings listed were also suspiciously round numbers that did not match the figures on my original agreement.
I attempted to resolve the issue by calling customer support twice. During my first call, I was disconnected without explanation. On my second attempt, I struggled to understand the representative due to a significant language barrier, but I gathered that someone would follow up with me within 24 hours. I have yet to receive any response.
At this point, the unauthorized charge, the altered rental records, and the lack of meaningful customer support feel less like a clerical error and more like something far more concerning. I think will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and disputing the charge with my credit card company.
I would caution other travelers to carefully review their statements and rental and credit card records after using Alamo, and to document their pickup and return mileage independently.
The staff was very helpful. We had reserved a convertible vehicle but it was unavailable when we arrived at the rental counter. We were offered the choice of two vehicles one of which was a BMW, which we chose. Upon receiving vehicle but before leaving the lot we were having trouble figuring out the CarPlay connection to my apple phone. The gentleman who was checking us out in the car lot was very helpful and was able to get my phone connected. Excellent customer service across the board. I choose my rental cars by price but this level of service will keep Alamo at the top of my car rental considerations.
