- MXMin XuJul 22, 20261.0Dishonest staff. Avoid at all costs. My Honda Odyssey had trouble charging the battery on May 24, 2026, when I visited Dartmouth College. I took the car to Advanced Auto Parts in Lebanon. The staff tested the battery and said the battery was dead. So I bought a new battery for $259.99. Within one hour my battery light was on again and I had to charge my battery every hour on my way back to southern CT. The normal 3.5-hour drive became 6 hours. I called the store immediately and told them that I need them to keep my old battery and I will pick it up in two weeks. The staff said no problem. When I drove back to the store on Jun 5, 2026, the staff initially said they cannot find my InterState battery. Later they found one, but it was not my battery, not even the same color. I took my Odyssey to a repair shop and it turned out to be a bad alternator. I uploaded my receipt and it is from Store #05529 Waterbury CT store, not Lebanon store. You know it is not right because there is zero tax on the receipt. Only NH has zero tax, not CT. Because the receipt is fake, I am not sure the staff name Jason R is fake or not. Anyway, you get the gesture. Nothing about Advance Auto Parts Lebanon can be trusted. Definitely do not test your battery there. Avoid the store at all costs. Jason or whatever your real name is, you are a disgrace to New Hampshire.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
