- STSugar TeamJun 27, 20261.0Absolutely predatory behavior. After the recent flooding in Wichita, my daughter—a single mom trying to navigate an emergency—had to temporarily leave her Jeep here. Instead of showing an ounce of community decency or basic human empathy during a crisis, AOK Pawnshop immediately had it towed. They didn't bother to reach out, warn anyone, or give a single second of grace. Instead, they weaponized a crisis to slap a struggling parent with a $185 bill to get her vehicle back. They are using Bud Roat Towing to enforce this, which includes a massively marked-up $140 tow fee and a ridiculous $40-a-day storage fee. When a natural disaster hits, you see who a business really is. AOK Pawnshop proved they are not for the Wichita community. They are greedy, opportunistic, and completely devoid of empathy. If you want to support a business that actually cares about its neighbors when things get tough, look literally anywhere else. Absolute disgrace.
