  I reserved and prepaid for a rental car through American Airlines. When I arrived to drop off the vehicle, the system would not accept the card barcode for some reason. The employee receiving cars in the garage told me he would pass the issue along to his manager. Later, I received an invoice and was charged the full rental amount on my credit card, including an extra day charge, even though the vehicle was returned on time. I contacted customer service in May, and they corrected the issue. However, on June 5th, my credit card was charged the full amount again for the same rental. I am extremely disappointed with the billing errors and the lack of resolution. Having to repeatedly dispute charges for a prepaid reservation is unacceptable. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.

  Straight out of the Sienfeld rental car episode. I made a reservation a week in advance. Day of arrival, I get to the Alamo/Enterprise counter and wait till someone is available. After standing waiting for 5 min while a lone gentleman is on the phone, I am informed that they don’t have a car for me. I confirm he has my reservation, but he states they “zeroed” out an hour prior to my reservation. His best solution/suggestion, “you can try one of the other counters/companies and try to come back tomorrow”. The next day, I speak with customer service and am told they are still sold out but they would have the regional manager contact me. 6 hours later, no contact so I follow up with customer support and they say they will have the regional manager contact me. 48 hours later, still nothing. They can take your reservation, but keeping it is the hard part.

  Alamo used the bait and hook method to get people in. Alamo was completely dishonest when Alamo stated I could rent a car for 30.00 dollars a day and then put a clause in the contract stating if I drove more then 0 miles the price would be 47.00 a day. This was blatantly deceptive. Nobody rents a car to leave it undriven in the lot. Shame on you Alamo you fooled me once, shame on me if I allow Alamo to fool me again. I will never rent another car from Alamo or for that matter through Priceline.
