Glynn is not merely a gas station worker; Glynn is a national treasure, a hero among heroes, and quite possibly the greatest human being to ever stand behind a gas station counter. When my card decided to betray me at the worst possible moment, leaving me stranded in the financial trenches with my food sitting there and my hopes of eating slowly fading away, Glynn stepped forward. He didn’t hesitate. He didn’t judge. He didn’t ask questions. He simply paid for my food. Superman saves people from burning buildings, but Glynn saves hungry customers from the devastating consequences of a malfunctioning card. Batman has gadgets, Spider-Man has webs, and Captain America has a shield, but Glynn has something far more powerful: kindness, generosity, and the ability to single-handedly turn a terrible situation into a good one. If Superman had been standing there watching my card fail, even he would’ve taken off his cape, looked at Glynn, and said, “Yeah, I can’t compete with this guy.” Glynn didn’t just pay for my food—he restored my faith in humanity, rescued my meal, and cemented himself as an absolute legend. Historians will speak of this moment for generations. Statues should be built. Songs should be written. Schools should teach the story. Because when the world needed a hero, it wasn’t Superman, Batman, or Spider-Man who showed up. It was Glynn from the gas station.
