- DGD. GrinnellJun 3, 20261.0Heads up! So we will admit fault for my son not getting the title over to Majestic Auto Body right away after he was in a horrible car accident on April 1st (liability insurance), But hear me out… We both had received letter from the Idaho transportation department, stating it was $250 for the tow and $45 a day for storage, this was on May 20th, well after the accident, so the charges had been adding up. When I called Zak the tow driver it was 58 days, which means the total would be $2860 per ITD, but he said he wanted $5000. And if it wasn’t paid it would be sent to collections. I asked how is it $5000 but apparently we were being charged for admin fees, the accident, debris cleanup, the side puller, specialty straps, skates, snatch, block, etc. steam cleanup, and fuel surcharge. In my opinion this is a predatory business practices, and is not ok. He also took the $45 a day storage fee up to $65 a day. I said to Zak if we had just brought in the title, we wouldn’t have had any of the extra charges, he agreed, so why is it ok to have them now? He ask me if I knew how much it cost to own a tow truck, or how much an acre of land cost. Either way he got the title and we paid the $3000. We never planned on getting the car back, it was totaled and thought it was a done deal once they picked it up. Times are tough be careful out there. He plans to make up the loss somewhere else.

I am now having to file an additional claim (and pay another deductible) to correct issues related to their repair work. While getting estimates from other auto body shops, I learned that some of Majestic Auto Body's repair methods are not consistent with typical industry standards. Overall, this was a very frustrating experience and I wish I would've had my repairs done somewhere else.

From the time my car was towed until I got my car back after the accident, I was kept up to date with what was going on (waiting for parts, waiting on insurance) and was treated with respect. Being a woman, that's not always the case. I just got my car back this afternoon and it looks amazing, just like it did before the accident. They even detailed the inside of my car before returning it to me. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
