I’m giving five stars not because of company policy, but because of the customer service at this specific location. Last week I was scheduled to pick up a mid-sized SUV for a week long road trip in Idaho, but upon arrival, there were no cars available for pickup despite my reservation, and the only potential vehicles for pickup were sedans far away. After waiting over two hours for a car, we eventually received a sedan, which wasn’t ideal given our plans to travel into the mountains, but we were able to adjust. A similar situation happened for other renters as well that day.
Despite the significant delay and change to our plan, however, the store manager (Chris) was very accommodating to our situation. He helped manage our reservation, as well as others, and was able to get vehicles brought to this location from other surrounding areas as quickly as he could. He also was able to provide discounts to the reservation total to decrease the cost. Truth be told, without these discounts, I may have looked elsewhere for future rentals, but am more likely to continue using Enterprise now.
Enterprise should always ensure that every vehicle reserved is available at the location and time it is booked - and if it isn’t, they should have a company-wide policy about how they rectify changes, in terms of discounts and accommodations, to travel plans, which can often be costly and distressing.
