The customer service experience from the moment I walked into this Enterprise location was absolutely unacceptable.
The manager was not only rude and dismissive toward me, but I also witnessed employees openly disparaging potential customers during conversations amongst themselves. The level of professionalism was astonishingly poor.
Unfortunately, the experience became substantially worse after I rented the vehicle. The vehicle leaked oil directly onto my brand-new driveway. When I contacted the location about it, the response I received was essentially, “That’s what cars do—they leak oil.” That response alone was unacceptable.
We later discovered that the leak was apparently caused by a loose oil drain plug/bolt following an oil change. In other words, this was not simply an older vehicle that happened to leak oil it appears to have resulted from improper servicing or maintenance of the rental vehicle.
I specifically requested that the regional manager contact me regarding the situation. I subsequently received two missed calls. I attempted to return those calls, but have been unable to reach him, and I have now been told that he is on vacation.
At this point, I have dealt with rude and unprofessional customer service, employees openly disparaging customers, a rental vehicle that leaked oil onto my new driveway because of an apparent maintenance issue, a dismissive response when I reported the damage, and an unsuccessful attempt to escalate the matter to regional management.
This has been, by far, the worst experience I have ever had with Enterprise. I have rented vehicles before and understand that mechanical issues can occasionally occur. What I do not accept is a preventable maintenance problem being treated as though it is normal, followed by dismissive customer service and a complete lack of meaningful follow-through.
Based on this experience, I have no intention of doing business with Enterprise again.
