  Had to have my windshield replaced. Went through my insurance company. I have used Safelite in California with no problems. But here in Idaho, they schedule the appointment and came out to my house. When they were taking in out of the van they broke the new windshield. Stress fracture. He scheduled a new appointment for the following Friday. That Friday came they never showed up a week later. Finally had to take it to the shop to have replaced. So it took 3 weeks to get a new one.

The windshield replacement itself appears to have been done very well. The correct feature-equipped glass was installed, including the heated wiper area, rain-sensing provisions and camera/ADAS equipment, and everything functions properly after calibration. The work was also completed surprisingly quickly. There were a couple of small cosmetic/QC issues. One edge of the windshield has about a 0.5 mm section where the pillar trim does not completely cover the glass edge, while the opposite side fits perfectly. A small amount of black urethane had squeezed out through that area and I had to carefully wipe it off afterward. There were also a few dusty spots left on the camera housing that are noticeable if you're particular about a newer car. None of these appear to affect the function of the repair, and overall the installation is very good. Their automated appointment and status notifications were also excellent — timely, accurate and actually useful.

  Great work! I loved that came all the way to marsing with no extra charge to replace my windshield at home. This was very convenient since I have children and waiting anywhere with kids is not fun. The technician had good communication, was quick and efficient. Scheduling was also hassle free and I liked that I could easily switch my apt. Will definitely use again in the future.

  During a 3 week road trip a rock hit the windshield of our Audi Q8 which created a 2 ft crack. The Safelite website explained exactly why the windshield needed to be replaced. It allowed me to enter my insurance information, they filed the claim for me, I got an instant quote and scheduled an appointment in the nearest city (while we were still traveling). The technician completed the job in just 2 hours and we were back on the road again. Great job!

  Work was okay, but I was extremely disappointed that I was lied to by the office. I specifically asked if my Idaho state parks sticker, my oil change sticker, and my dash cam could be reinstalled on to my newly replaced windshield. The office told me that the company rep would do what he could and if he couldn’t replace something, the technician would tell me why. When the technician arrived, I asked him those 3 questions. He told me he could handle the first two, but he would not be able to reinstall my dash cam as it was against company policy. I explained that I had called and asked about the installation when I made the appointment and was told that the technician would do his best and explain otherwise if he was unable to do so. I told him that if I had known this when I made the appointment, I would have hired another company. Bottom line: The office lied to me just to get my business and left me with less than I had before they came to replace my windshield. I did my due diligence prior to the install; I had not considered that the company would outright lie to me about their company policy. Bad move Safelight. I won’t be back.
