  Our pickup experience at National Union Station in Washington was quite slow. We had booked through Booking.com a sport convertible or equivalent, such as a Mustang, but no vehicle in that category was available when we arrived. There was also a long line, and the location was clearly understaffed. The employee assisting us did his best, but he had very limited time and resources to help us understand the available options. Since the car was going to be an important part of our 10-day road trip, we were hoping for either a typical American sports car or a high-end SUV. Unfortunately, it was difficult to understand which luxury models were available or how the additional costs compared with the amount already prepaid through Booking.com. There was no easy way, such as a tablet or similar tool, to browse the available cars, so the final choice ended up being made rather quickly. In the end, we were very happy with the car he managed to find for us. However, when leaving the garage, we realized we had not been given the exit ticket, which caused another delay of about 20 minutes. We would not rent from the Union Station location again, but not because of the service received (again, the staff did their best with the tools available). The area where the rental offices are located had a very unpleasant smell, and the elevator was even worse. Combined with the heat, the long wait and the crowd, it made the pickup experience quite uncomfortable. The return at JFK, on the other hand, was excellent. The employee there was extremely courteous and completed everything in just a few minutes.

  Although we had to wait because it was 8:30am on a Saturday morning, the employee who helped us, Kareem, was very nice and pleasant, and did his best to accommodate us when our luxury car wasn’t available. He completely turned around our irritated attitude 😊
