Since 1963, the Improvisation Comedy Clubs have remained the premier stages for live comedy in the United States. Over the decades, the talent who have graced Improv stages represent the Who’s Who in American comedy.
Pittsburgh Improv opened in 2002. Located in Pittsburgh’s thriving Waterfront shopping area, the club offers a combination of A-list comedy, good food and cocktails. Pittsburgh Improv regularly hosts top tier comedians such as Hannibal Burress, Anthony Jeselnik, Cedric the Entertainer, Steve Byrne, Wayne Brady, Tom Segura, Anjelah Johnson, Billy Gardel and more. In 2018, the venue was completely redesigned, including a new lobby showcasing legendary Improv comedians, an improved floorplan, upgraded ADA accessibility, and seamless access between the patio space and the club, where VIP booths provide the ultimate guest experience.
In December 2019, Pittsburgh Improv partnered with Pandora and local artist, Brian Holderman, to create an original art piece—an exterior largescale mural to enhance the venue. The design aesthetic feels both retro and futuristic, much like the historic Improv brand, which launched in 1963 yet continues to give rise to the top comedians of tomorrow.
We could always use a good laugh and this is an excellent and surprisingly not expensive place for that:)

Bought VIP tickets but they will seat you at a small table with strangers. I don't want to eat with people I don't know! Food is mediocre.

A very nice theater. A great place to see a comedian. The layout is very well done. There is a two item minimum for each person. I got a drink and something to eat. The prices were a little high but not too bad. We got the tickets on Groupon for $7. Which is fantastic. To buy them before the show it was roughly $28. Which I did not think was too bad. We ate before we came so we only got a small snack and a drink.
