About

Comedy ClubEvent VenueFundraisingDinner TheaterBusiness Meeting Locations
Since 1963, the Improvisation Comedy Clubs have remained the premier stages for live comedy in the United States. Over the decades, the talent who have graced Improv stages represent the Who’s Who in American comedy. Pittsburgh Improv opened in 2002. Located in Pittsburgh’s thriving Waterfront shopping area, the club offers a combination of A-list comedy, good food and cocktails. Pittsburgh Improv regularly hosts top tier comedians such as Hannibal Burress, Anthony Jeselnik, Cedric the Entertainer, Steve Byrne, Wayne Brady, Tom Segura, Anjelah Johnson, Billy Gardel and more. In 2018, the venue was completely redesigned, including a new lobby showcasing legendary Improv comedians, an improved floorplan, upgraded ADA accessibility, and seamless access between the patio space and the club, where VIP booths provide the ultimate guest experience. In December 2019, Pittsburgh Improv partnered with Pandora and local artist, Brian Holderman, to create an original art piece—an exterior largescale mural to enhance the venue. The design aesthetic feels both retro and futuristic, much like the historic Improv brand, which launched in 1963 yet continues to give rise to the top comedians of tomorrow.

Great comedians last weekend! The ushers were really nice & helpful. The waitress on the other hand, horrible. We were the only table throughout half the show with no drinks, not even a water. She charged us incorrectly & was overall just rude.

We’ve been here many times and this was by far the worst experience. No negativity towards the comedians. I frequent many restaurants and this server was the worst I ever encountered. I had to literally just call a staff member and say can you ask our server check us we didn’t see them and we want to order. I mean it would’ve been her own fault if we didn’t put in our 2 items. There’s a QR code on the tables that don’t work. I actually ended up in tears because the service was so bad. The food is so bad, I think the mozzarella sticks that I used to like got worse. The fries were passable. Even the soda is watered down. We literally got refillable souvenir cups, I asked for refills when she came to collect payment (cause you can find them then), and she never brought them. You couldn’t find her to ask for anything else. The server at the table next to us was so attentive. I’d love to talk to the owner, but doesn’t look like you have your actual contact info available. It’s 4am and I am crying again about the lousy experience. Like I am so torn, the comedy is great, but service and food are the bottom of the barrel. Please do better.

Very nice staff. One employee asked me if I enjoyed the show after she was very kind helping with the pictures after the Dylan Carlino show on Friday night. Great sangria and chicken quesidillas.

The comedian was great the service was extremely poor . The server didn’t clear the table at all so we had dirty plates sitting in the table the entire show and the server only came back at last call . At the end when it was time to pay I asked for a receipt and he said he would grab me one because he deleted the option on the toast and never returned smh .

It's a nice venue with plenty of parking. The people who work there are friendly, and they run a quality operation. But there are a few things that should really be improved. 1. They could really use more bathrooms for the amount of people that they host. 2. The audio volume starts out at the high end of a reasonable level, but as they start the show, they raise it up to too loud. I had to improvise ear plugs out of napkins, and I saw others around me plugging their ears as well. 3. Most of the seating is at tables, and these are a bit cramped. Towards the end of the show, I really felt like I needed to stretch my legs, but there was no space. The chairs themselves are also not very comfortable. They are straight back chairs with very thin seat cushions. And they are arranged at 90 degree angles from the stage, so guests have to turn their heads uncomfortably to look at the performance. These may seem like small things, but they make a big difference. I hope the owners read these reviews and consider the constructive critique.
