  A huge shout out and thank you to Nick at Black Bear Band Repair in Bangor, Maine for thoroughly cleaning and turning up our instruments for the upcoming concert season!! We highly highly recommend him!! Nick is very knowledgeable, personable, and detail-oriented! I especially appreciate that he took the time to educate me on how to properly care for and maintain an unlacquered horn as this is my first time owning one. I recently purchased one that had been sitting in storage for quite some time and difference looks incredible and the values are much smoother. I had only scheduled mine to be completed today, but he was also very kind and did my husband’s trumpet as well to save us another trip. My husband’s reaction when he saw his trumpet: “Woah, it looks brand new!!” Thank you very much and we will definitely continue to come back!

  I brought my tuba in with sticky rotary valves that I could not get working right on my own. These guys made the valves feel smoother than any other instrument I've owned and fixed a few other dents and things I thought could never be fixed. True craftsmanship and very professional, worth every penny!
