  First timer but definitely not the last time. Had a great time with friends to see DC Ervin and Marlon Wayans. They have a decent variety of food options and service was fairly quick. Seats are good no matter where you are.

  I've been here a few times over the years. They have a lot of big names that come through. The parking sucks because it’s part of the mall and there are restaurants nearby. I think if they were a stand alone building, the parking would not be as awful. After you park, they have two lines going into the building. One is general admission and the other is VIP. General admission was on the left and VIP was on the right. They are not labeled. VIP just means that you sit closer to the stage. Seats are like first come first serve. Btw when it is busier, they have people sitting in front of you at each table. They fill each table to the max. In general, I would recommend lining up at least 30-40 mins before the show begins, for better seating. After you sit down, you have to order two items per person. We just ordered two drinks each. It’s kind of an asinine rule but I guess that’s how they make their money. We ordered food in the past. Ever since then, we just grab food nearby before coming. Food was okay here. The drinks are not bad, the glasses are a good size so you can sip on it throughout the show. Service was good, although it could be better. It took awhile to receive our drinks. Depending on the comedian, you can get a free picture or you have to pay for one. Overall, it’s like a 3.5 experience but 5 stars for the comedian. Meh, I’ll give it 4 stars.

  BEWARE, IF YOU ARE OVERCHARGED THEY WILL TAKE NO ACTION TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. I have been to the Improv several times but this might be my last. The venue is very nice and I enjoyed the show but my issue is with the order/payment system and their lack of support and service. I attended the 9:30 show 6/27, when ordering you are now to scan a QR code and use toast tab to order and pay. You are given the option to order for the table or just yourself and I opted to order only for myself. My friend ordered a drink and one entree, I ordered the same one drink and entree. The drinks came quickly and my friends entree came out in about 15 minutes with an extra item she didn’t order. She explained this and was told she would not be charged for it, she closed her tab and paid. After another 20 minutes my food still hadn’t come so I checked my tab. No only had I not been served but I was also charged for my friend’s drink. A woman who I believe was the manager came to the table, just making general service checks and we explained the problem. She said they could not change my tab and remove the drink, this wasn’t a big deal my friend just zelled me the difference. My food finally arrived when the show was more than halfway over and I closed the tab. This morning I look at my statement and was charged almost double what I should have been charged, even including tax and tip. I was charged for my order plus my friend’s drink and the extra item. There is no one to contact and get this corrected. I do enjoy the Improv and clearly this was a mistake, but I can’t imagine that there is no way to correct an issue on a still open tab and now I’ve been charged almost double and there is no one to contact about the problem. Please fix this because otherwise the Improv is a great place, but this has definitely left me with a bad experience.

  My friend and I came to the Pride drag show on 6/14 and were severely disappointed by both our experience and service. We’ve been to multiple drag shows at this venue and this was the worst by far. We have not had so many issues than this visit. We sat in a section by the bar that none of the performers visited the entire performance. At previous shows, this has not been the case, even with a higher number of attendees. For the price of tickets and fees, ($70 for two tickets) you’d expect one interaction at the very least. The people next to us resorted to drunkenly performing for us all instead, knocking over chairs and spilling water on us. We also paid $50 for two drinks that the person serving us (not our main server) spilled all over, and could not tell which was a double shot or a single. I emailed Chicago Improv and have not received any communication.

  Love going to the Chicago Improv! Great variety of comedians. And I’d like getting text messages that Offer Discount Tickets so we go whenever my brother is in town visiting as well as on other occasions too good, friendly servers, and staff. No hounding, rushing or pressure to keep ordering though they kindly ask if you want something else.
