  Marie is such a fun, down-to-earth, professional teacher. I’ve had three children in the Sound Beginnings and Let’s Play Music programs and I’m always so impressed with her classroom management and care for each child present. She’s both gifted with music and children and I recommend her with no hesitation!

  Let's Play Music is an excellent program for early childhood and elementary age kids, and a great launching pad for deeper exploration into specific instruments or vocal music. Marie is simply the best LPM teacher! We have worked with her for 10+ years and love her kindness, easygoing but very organized way, and friendly & fun personality with the kiddos!

  We’ve taken a couple sessions of classes from Marie and it was a great experience! Marie is so accommodating and engaging with the kids. My oldest can be sensitive to noise/stimulation, and it was very easy for him to take a break, if needed, during the class. My daughter loved every class and we still listen to and use the music books weekly in our home! These classes definitely helped build a good musical foundation for my kids.

  My Master’s in Music Education, and it is really important to me to have a good music teacher for my kids. Because of my background in music, I know what to look for in an instructor. Not only is Let’s Play Music a stellar curriculum to teach music in a child-friendly way, Marie Guthrie is an absolutely incredible teacher. She has the patience of a saint, and her joy of music shines through at every class. My girls adore having music with her, and we’ve been so grateful to get to work with her. She knows how to support each child at their own pace, and I’ve seen her make each child feel valued and important while still accomplishing the goal of learning music. Her lessons are well-prepared, and she has manipulatives for each concept that really drive the lessons home for each child. We’ve been with her since before 2020, and I foresee many more years enjoying learning from her!
