  I probably drove by Astro on Sam Bass a couple hundred times before I stopped in for a small welding repair job. They did an excellent job. Since then I’ve been back for a couple of smaller jobs. I have always found them to be honest, friendly, fair in pricing, and just great to work with. I highly recommend them. Stephen T

  Astro is one of the places we take for granted. In a few years, fewer "go-to" machining and welding shops will be around. Astro has always been there when we needed them!

  I should have wrote this review years ago but better late than never. Master Butch and team are the best of the best in metal working. They have done so many projects for us I cannot even count anymore. Always done better than expected for a cost better than expected. What more could you ask for! Butch and team are wonderful people as well. We are so lucky to have them around in this day and age with good machinists harder and harder to find. Astro Mechanics has a rich history in metal working even building complex mounts and telescopes for universities and research institutions (even NASA!) in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Their telescopes are still in use today. The business dried up in the late 70s so they had to switch to general machining. They have done many astronomy related matching jobs over the years. The most recent job was not an astronomy related machining job but repairing a badly damaged differential housing out of a tractor. Other machine shops closer to where the tractor broke down were scared to take on the task of repairing the housing. I knew who would not be afraid to take it on, off to Astro Mechanics I went. Butch and team made the housing look like new and they even took the challenge on to make it better. If you ever have a job where others are scared of give Astro Mechanics a call or stop by. I am sure they will knock your socks off as they have done to us countless times over the years. Thank you Butch and team! 🙂
