  I was disappointed by the way my grandmother was treated while doing genealogy here. She overheard a group of women discussing plans to go see a movie together and politely asked if she could join them. Instead of responding with kindness even if the answer was no they simply didn’t acknowledge her. This organization promotes values of kindness, inclusion, and making everyone feel welcome. Unfortunately, that wasn’t my grandmother’s experience. Being ignored can be deeply hurtful, especially for an older adult who was simply trying to connect with others. I hope this organization reflects on how its members treat visitors and so that everyone feels seen and valued.
