Friendly staff. Great and quick check in and out. Free breakfast although it was semi crowded at 7:30, lines went quick. 8:30 was less crowded. Large pairs may have to wait for seating of 4 or more. Outside seating is available. Parking on site $49/day. Room felt small because of the two queen beds. Recommend no more than two adults in this type of room but so come to Hawaii to stay in the room?. Came for work for a day so can't tell you much about. But been here before so there is plenty to do/eat and in walking distance.

Great location and the breakfast was amazing! BUT, I would STRONGLY RECOMEND that if you have a vehicle and plan to park in their garage, that you select another hotel or plan to park before 7pm at night or you will not find a parking space. Another issue is the hotels elevators are unbelievably inefficient and broke down half the time. My family and I were on the 26th floor and every morning ended up walking down to the bottom floor for breakfast as the elevators took 10-15 minutes. The rooms are extremely small. I've never witnessed this size of room in a hotel. Overall the experience was ok, but these two issues were very frustrating every single day.

Disappointing Stay – Functional Amenities Should Be the Bare Minimum
We chose this hotel primarily for its location, gym, and hot tub, but unfortunately, the lack of functional amenities made for an incredibly frustrating stay.
The experience begins the moment you walk in. The lobby and the rooms carry a stale, musty odor that instantly transports you to your grandmother's house in the eighties and not in a charming, nostalgic way. It's the kind of scent that settles into your clothes and makes you wonder when the carpets and upholstery were last deep cleaned. A complete refresh is long overdue, and a coat of paint alone won't fix it.
With the elevators down for the duration of our visit, we had no choice but to take the stairs sometimes. Be prepared: the stairwell hits you with an overwhelming smell of old fish that makes an already exhausting trek even more unpleasant. And if you think you'll cool off with some ice once you finally reach your floor, think again the ice machine has been out of ice all day. Basic necessities simply aren't being maintained. This is what happens when lack of management meets lack of care for overall guests stay.
What was most unacceptable, however, was the hot tub situation. We only discovered it was ice cold a full day into our stay. There was no signage, no barrier closing it off, and zero communication from the front desk acknowledging the issue, let alone offering an apology for the inconvenience. Simply ignoring that a main advertised amenity is out of order shows a real lack of guest consideration. If it was broken they certainly wouldn’t advertise this on their website. Weeks without this amenity is terrible.
The only silver lining was the staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly, and a special mention goes to Tammy at Map & Information she was kind, patient very thorough and knowledgeable about wide range of topics on Hawaiii, she was truly amazing.
That said, friendly staff can't make up for broken elevators, a fish-scented stairwell, no ice, a freezing hot tub, and a building that smells decades past its prime. With so many other hotels available right on the water, I'd strongly recommend passing on this one and booking elsewhere.
The room was extremely small, with hardly any space to move around. Overall, I was very disappointed and felt misled by the booking.
I specifically reserved an ocean-view room, but you can barely see the ocean from the room. To make matters worse, the room door was difficult to open when we arrived. We were locked out after coming back from dinner and I had to take the elevator—which had no air conditioning—down to the front desk, only to be told that the door handle needs to be lifted in order to open the door.
The staff explained that this is a known issue and that "90% of the time" the trick works. If that's the case, guests should be informed about it during check-in rather than having to figure it out after being locked out of their room.
The internet was also extremely slow. I was unable to reliably watch YouTube or even use my social media apps, which was very frustrating during my stay.
The location is fair, but not ideal. While it is one of the few positive aspects of the property, it is not enough to make up for the other issues.
Another major problem is the elevator situation. There do not appear to be enough elevators to accommodate both guests and staff. During busy times, staff frequently use the elevators while transporting large trash bins, which further increases wait times and makes an already crowded situation worse.
Overall, the room did not match expectations, the advertised ocean view was disappointing, the internet was unreliable, and the hotel seemed poorly maintained and managed. I would not stay here again.
I usually try to leave positive reviews whenever possible, but I feel compelled to share my honest experience this time. As a Hawaii resident, I recently stayed at this hotel for one night using my IHG anniversary night certificate.
While the check-in process itself was smooth, I was informed that a $100 deposit and a $39.17 resort fee would be charged. While the deposit is refundable, I was highly disappointed to learn that the resort fee was mandatory. When using points or free night certificates in places like Japan or South Korea, I have never been charged a resort fee. In fact, I visited both countries just three months ago and paid no such fees.
I didn’t even use the pool, nor do I even know if this hotel has one. To me, charging a "resort fee" at a property located far from the beach makes little sense.
If a hotel insists on charging a resort fee, it should at least provide the basic amenities to justify it. My room did not have a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, slippers, or a bathrobe—absolutely nothing. Paying an extra fee for a "resort" experience when even the bare essentials are missing is, frankly, unacceptable and frustrating from a guest's perspective.
If this hotel wants to charge a resort fee, they need to properly equip their rooms and services to match that standard. I am highly disappointed with this stay.
