As someone from Karamay, I definitely recommend this restaurant. My husband and I visited with my parents, and we ordered four different noodles plus lamb skewers. Everything was authentic and delicious. Even the dried chili tasted just like it does in Xinjiang. We’ll definitely be back.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by both the lamb and the chicken dishes. The biggest thing that stood out to me was how tender both meats were — neither was dry or tough. The chicken was cut into quite large pieces, and interestingly, it was chicken breast. Usually, chicken breast can easily become dry, but this was surprisingly juicy and tender, which I really appreciated. That said, I did find the pieces a little too large for my preference. I think I might enjoy it even more if the chicken were cut into slightly smaller pieces, although of course this probably comes down to personal preference. The portion sizes are also very generous. If you are really hungry, I would definitely recommend coming here because the food is very filling and satisfying. One small issue I noticed is that each main course comes with the meat and vegetables served on top of noodles. The noodles underneath were slightly cold, especially the parts that weren’t covered by the meat. I don’t think this was necessarily due to the weather, as it has been quite warm recently, and even if the food was served promptly, I wouldn’t expect the noodles to cool down that quickly. It did affect the texture and overall eating experience slightly. However, this is quite easy to fix — once you mix the noodles and the sauce together properly, the cooler noodles become much warmer and everything tastes much more balanced. The lamb was another highlight. It had a really nice balance of lean meat and fat, and the ratio was just right. The pieces were also smaller and more manageable than the chicken, so there was no need to cut them up with a knife and fork. The texture was slightly springy while still being very tender and silky. The sauce that came with the noodles was also very well balanced — it wasn’t overly salty or spicy, which I really enjoyed. As for the restaurant itself, I thought it was a pleasant place to dine. It was relatively quiet and relaxed rather than being loud and bustling. The interior also had quite a strong Xinjiang character, which gave the restaurant a sense of place and made the experience feel more immersive. I think it could be even more interesting if the staff’s uniforms incorporated a little more traditional Xinjiang-inspired clothing or details. If you’re shopping around Oxford Street and happen to get hungry, I think this would be a good place to stop by. The food was served quite quickly, and the location is very convenient. It’s also a halal restaurant, so it’s a good option for halal diners. The location is another plus — it’s only about a two-minute walk from Victoria Station, and there are also shops such as The North Face and H&M nearby, so it’s easy to combine a meal here with some shopping. Overall, I had a really enjoyable experience. If they introduced a kids’ menu in the future, I think that would be a nice addition as well.

We were randomly looking for a restaurant and saw this one has lot of good reviews. The dishes are nice. The hand pulled noodles are fresh and chewy. The portion was ok. The meat was tender (lamb rib) although there wasn’t that much meat. For the rice pulao with beef skewersc there was lot of rice compared to the meat. Meat was a bit chewy and dry. The rice was nice. Total with the 12.5% service charge was 39 pounds. I saw some canned tomatoe sauce next to the kitchen, so paying that price for not homemade tomatoe sauce (and what else?) is a bit pricey. Price in this restaurant is consistent with the neighbourhood.
