  This is a fantastic hotel, the gal at the front desk Christina was super awesome and helpful!!! The room me and my son stayed in was very nice, super clean, and very spacious!! Definitely will stay here again next time i need a hotel room to crash in!

  The bathroom did not have a shower curtain, the refrigerator made a loud buzzing noise the entire time we were there, The bathroom vanity cabinets, which were not used for anything, we’re filthy. The person that checked us in was not very friendly at all. The rest of the staff we encountered we’re very Pleasant. The room was very clean except that vanity cabinets in the bathroom sink. area, which look like they moved from another room that was put in as a fill in because you couldn’t open one cabinet at all and the other one it looked like it was supposed to have a refrigerator in it so that’s why I think it was put there as a fill in for the sink vanity. Not worth the $400 per night!

  The staff was professional, friendly and helpful, and definitely helped bump this up regarding the location and the actual rooms. The location is convenient if you want to spend some time in Duluth as it’s right at the base of the black neck bridge. Your back over the bridge and into Duluth within less than five minutes. However, it’s on a busy street and it has that in industrial you’ll feel that you might expect in that area put the property it’s located on is beat up bad parking lot. This hotel has been renovated a few times with add-ons coming here and there and its layout is very unfriendly. They were working on more renovation as we saw painters there during our stay. The rooms are extremely outdated. The bed was uncomfortable. The shower did not work well and was very confusing to try to figure out how to use. Not much water pressure and if you didn’t have the curtain closed, the showerhead sprayed some of it out onto the floor It just felt old which it was. Paint chipping off the walls, outdated carpet, etc.. Prior to going I read some reviews and our room was definitely on the low star end of that spectrum. Other people mentioned they like the breakfast which when I went down the first day, I grabbed two or three things there was food all over the handles of the tongs and spoons and the shaving lid. There wasn’t anybody on site keeping it up or cleaning but obviously they had to have been. They must’ve just been busy doing something else at the time. I decided the only thing I was gonna eat was a pack of eggs because they were pre-packed and I grabbed a couple of cream cheese cups and went to Quiktrip and bought a couple of bagels. Just didn’t feel comfortable eating food that was out in the open like that. I guess overall and the variable reviews are what you’re gonna get. I don’t know how the other rooms looked if they’ve been updated or not maybe somehow maybe some haven’t.

  Decent for what I needed. I'm neither a luxury enthusiast nor a sleep on cardboard traveler. The bed was fine, pillows were fine. Room size itself was perfect. I wish the lighting was a bit better, but that's not a deal breaker. I had a choice of pool view or pool side only. I did view to be further away, but its still pretty loud. Not sure if that's an easy fix, but it should be considered. Bathroom/bath tub def needs some work. Location was great for the places I came from and was going to. There is a Kwik Star down a block and the bridge to Duluth is a block the other way.

  My sister-in-law recently stayed here. She invited me and my kids to come swimming since she isn’t in town very often. She also invited my nieces so they could see their brother. For starters, the room was gross when she checked in. Later that night my boyfriend and his brother found a diaper behind the tv. Gross. THEN they took half her damage deposit. Mind you, the only people who stayed in the room were her and her not even year old baby. She was sick the whole time and he was sleeping. Not much can get damaged. I know that the new GM came from Barkers and that hotel went downhill when he got to that hotel. Staff were miserable and housekeeping was awful. When he left Barkers he took the poor housekeeping staff along with him to Best Western, and I’ve heard that he is doing the same stuff there as he was at Barkers. 10/10 do not recommend. But I hear Barkers is thriving again!
