LARGE ROACHES IN ROOMS. DO NOT STAY HERE! We walked into our room and were greeted by a large, live roach. Tina at the front desk tried to tell us the very obvious roach was a "water bug". She then tried to tell us that roaches are normal for hotels in Texas and on the first floor, which is so ridiculous. We've stayed in hundreds of hotels on the first floor in Texas and all over the US and have never had roaches in our hotel rooms. It's already unacceptable no matter what, but especially when paying over $330 for two nights. We then reached out for a partial refund due to dirty rooms and roaches & we were denied since we were "enjoying the pool"? Like somehow that made up for bugs in our room. To add insult to injury, the pool was dirty and the hot tub smelled very strong of something that is definitely not chlorine. Dirty, raggedy bathroom in the pool area. When I say raggedy, I mean large chunks of wall just missing raggedy. Clumps of hair in the pool, definitely not even close to clear water, random debris floating throughout and lots of settled dirt/ debris at the bottom of the pool. To top it all off, they left all side doors open and unlocked constantly. People were swimming in the pool that weren't staying in the hotel by sneaking in the OPEN side doors. No employees enforcing any "rules". Rust in the bathroom, dirty lampshades, just overall very lackluster for such prices. I don't expect perfection by any means, but the minimum should be no roaches in the rooms. 0/10 stars. Literally nothing good about this hotel, it's not even cheaper for being as beat up as it was. We stayed here about a month ago and I held off on a review in hopes that someone would make it right, but they have avoided and ignored all requests. La Quinta right across the highway was nicer, cleaner, better management/staff and cheaper. Don't waste your money or time here.
