I booked a suite at the Best Western Windsor Pointe Hotel & Suites – Frost Bank Center because I've always trusted Best Western and have remained loyal due to their rewards program. After this experience, neither I nor anyone in my family will ever stay at this location again.
My parents, who are both in their 80s, checked into a suite first. After a long flight, they unpacked before realizing just how unacceptable the room was. The entry door was sticking and difficult to open, there was urine on the bathroom floor, black pubic hairs in the sink, and the shower curtain looked like it had come from a flood-damaged garage sale—it was stained and covered in mildew. Since they had already unpacked after traveling all day, they stayed the night and were moved to another room the following morning.
Unfortunately, my experience was just as bad. I checked into my own suite around 6:00 p.m. after a long drive, but immediately left to spend time with a seriously ill family member who is nearing the end of their life. I didn't return to my room until about 11:30 p.m. By the time I unpacked and took a shower, it was around 12:30 a.m. When I finally pulled back the bed covers, I found what appeared to be large blood stains all along the side of the bed. At that hour, exhausted and already undressed, I wasn't about to get dressed again to change rooms. I grabbed the clean sheet and blanket and slept on the couch instead.
The next morning I reported everything to the front desk. Instead of an apology or genuine concern, I was told that the hotel was "under new management" and that the previous owners had let the property become run down. While that may explain the condition of the hotel, it certainly doesn't excuse renting rooms in this state to paying guests.
The lack of cleanliness and quality control at this property is completely unacceptable. I have stayed at many Best Western hotels over the years and have never experienced anything remotely close to this. This location is an embarrassment to the Best Western brand.
I've attached photos so others can see exactly what we encountered. Save yourself the disappointment and stay somewhere else.
