  Room and location are good. The night clerk - woman, is an absolute nightmare. Refused to give a receipt, and when called once back home, needing a receipt for work, she once again stated " you're not getting one ". You would think a hotel chain such as this would remedy their employee problems.

  Overall 3 stars, got that last star due to a very pleasant staff. They were accommodating and very easy to deal with. The property owners are obviously trying to squeeze profit without fixing much or making improvements. The pool is unfortunately an unheated "indoor" pool so it's too cold to enjoy even in the middle of summer. The hot tub looks like it hasn't worked in quite some time. No pool towels. Peeling paint floating in the pool. The room appeared clean but that was surface level only. Hadn't been deep cleaned in a while and half my family had serious allergy attacks throughout the night.

  Everything about my stay was outstanding-from the welcoming front desk staff to the clean, comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast. The entire hotel was well-maintained and made for a very enjoyable visit. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone traveling between Dallas and Houston.

  We've stayed here before when we hit bucees on our way to houston and galveston however it has gone from average to below average. As for the room, bed was ok not great, the AC fan sputtered and the toilet had to be fixed so it would flush properly. And as with a previous stay here, the pool was again freezing cold and the hot tub out of order. Be aware that when you stay at a best western that's in a very small town, the staff are usually dressed in street clothes not a best western uniform , so it can be really hard to tell staff from anybody that just walked in off the street. Case in point the girl that was working the front desk, if I had seen her walking down the hallway, I would have figured she was a guest. And the guy that was supposedly the manager, he was also in street clothes and a baseball cap, very unkempt looking. I don't know that we'll stay here again.
