Before I mention a couple of things to think about, I want to say that the room here was very clean and had lots of complimentary hygiene bottles, plenty of towels and a nice sized room fridge. The bed was comfortable enough for one night. The hotel seems like maybe it's really old - it feels dated. Easy access to room - we were able to park right outside the door. The free breakfast seemed pretty standard, but it's always nice to not have to think about that meal. Pets are allowed (thank you!) for a reasonable fee, but there was no place set aside to take our pup to do her business except for a sketchy empty lot behind the hotel. In all fairness, there isn't really room anywhere to add that option. The location was super convenient, right on the the highway from Lubbock and just a block from the road we took when we left town. I was afraid it would be loud because it's on the main road, but during the night it was fine. Several good fast food options within walking distance. Now for the things to think about. The curtains don't really fit the windows well, so the room was very light. The easy fix, of course, if this bothers you as it does me, is a sleep mask. We were confused about why the smoke detector had toilet paper wrapped around it. Thought it was a joke until we turned off the light and saw how bright the indicator light was, even covered up. The tv reception was not good, but that could just be the area. The Best Western Caprock Inn is an inexpensive, convenient option for a one night stay, just be prepared for the aging but not vintage style.

Breakfast was great. Service was excellent, we checked in at nearly midnight & the nice gentleman wasted no time getting us checked in. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There’s a McDonald’s across the street & a Pizza Hut right next to the hotel. Cleaning ladies were friendly. Price was affordable.

I must have missed this but this is a motel not a hotel. Booked this room through Expedia and unfortunately did not feel safe during my stay. I felt compelled to place the table in front of the door for added security. Of course I asked to be on the second floor as I was alone and wanted a little more security. They booked me into a smoking room even though my confirmation said non smoking. Thank goodness the girl at front desk (who was VERY nice) fixed it for me. The room was excessively warm, they do not turn the ac on at all and the refrigerator was not work, which was especially concerning as I had medication that required refrigeration.
Additionally, although the property advertises that pets are allowed, there was no appropriate grassy area available for them — only concrete surfaces. There will no other places that accepted dogs so I was stuck.
Overall, I was very disappointed with the conditions and did not feel comfortable during my stay.
Good place to stay

Been driving for 18 hours and Ew. I took a shower and felt like I wasn’t getting clean because the bathroom smells like pure cigarettes. You can smell it on the walls in the bathroom. Mind you we are in a smoke free room. The beds aren’t comfy and the pillows are really little. They are squares. The comforter has a bunch of dirt and things on it when we walked in, I don’t trust the beds. You would think they take care of this stuff a little more as it’s literally what they specialize in.
