Front desk staff are awesome - the gentleman who checked us in at night was super helpful, and anticipated our needs as a family by guiding us toward the room most suited to us. The woman who staffed the front desk in the morning was extremely friendly and courteous.
Layout of the hotel was great - it’s a single level style with most of the rooms directly accessible in a ringed courtyard-style parking lot - it makes unloading and loading really convenient, especially with families because you can park right in front of your room’s door.
We had a family suite. The gentleman behind the counter checking us in at night helpfully guided us to a family suite with a double and queen instead of the king we’d booked. It was a little confusing on the website/app, which is why we had booked the king family suite originally. The double was actually better for us because it was two double/full sized beds in a back room with a TV and sink. The separate front room had a queen-sized bed, a queen size pull-out hide-a-bed sofa, another TV, and access to the bathroom. The door to the back room with (in our case) two double/full size beds had a separate key card access and a deadbolt. Our room also had a window overlooking a peaceful, small stream with a screened, locking window that opened, making for a very pleasant summer morning. Beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms were very quiet. The separate rooms for the family suite raised quality of sleep even higher. Rooms were immaculately clean when we checked in. Key cards were reliable and quick. Exterior door had multiple safety locks. No problems with parking.
Bathroom was not large, but perfectly adequate in size, with all fixtures including exhaust fan working well.
Continental breakfast was provided in a separate building next to the pool and self-serve laundry room with washer and dryer. Ample tables were available, even at a peak time. Hours were quite reasonable. Staff was extremely pleasant and made sure all items were being regularly replenished. The touchless pancake maker was a fun novelty for kids. The only downside was that the corner counter set up could get a little crowded, but was overall quite nice with just the right amount of options for a satisfying breakfast.
Distance off the interstate was not far, but far enough to be quiet with no road noise.
The generous 12 pm checkout made for a much less stressful morning allowing plenty of time to allow our kids to have a restful lazy morning before getting up and going again.
Highly recommend this hotel, especially for families needing a rest stop on this stretch of I-5.
